If true, I don't think that there's any reason to believe that he did anything inappropriate in the position of guitar teacher. But it's still incredibly dumb of him to take that role knowing everything is just a Google search away.

 

No reason to believe he'd do anything inappropriate in the presence of minors, huh?

Anyways, I'd also like a source. Not because I don't believe it, but just because obviously someone passing on secondhand information isn't always the most reliable way gather new information.

 

If this were 2002, then yeah, I'd have a reason. But post-rockstar, mature adult, wife-and-kids era, having already gone through public humiliation for his seedy past, I'm not going to automatically assume that he's back to his old ways.

I still wouldn’t trust him if I was a parent in this case, though.

 

He's absolutely forfeited any right to work with minors. No workplace performing a background check on him would hire him. And they'd be right not to.

Edit: no workplace that would place him in contact with young people, I should specify

 

his platform as a musician is forfeit. better hope he can find some line of work that won't eventually run a background check on a scumbag paedophile

I wouldn’t trust him, no. And the optics of this are so stupid on his end, because obviously. I am just not going to assume he is doing anything inappropriately as a guitar teacher, but for optics it makes sense why it’s not something he should be doing.

 

It’s very easy to not defend JL

 

I've taken adult-specific guitar lessons in my lil podunk town so I imagine there's a market for it wherever he lives if needed to make the hustle. It's easy to not work with kids lol
