I mean in the context of the rest of that post I feel it's pretty clear that that sentence is more just mocking the idea that they have any valuable information to share in the first place lol

You seem to be arguing that there is some sort of value in this whole bizarre "industry" itself, whereas I am disagreeing with that entire premise, not just specifically R2D but that whole world. I'm asking sincerely: what value is there to it? How is it not just, on one side, a money-making venture for the people putting on these dinners/lectures/etc, and on the other side, a way for wealthy/corporate/HR types to essentially pay for a lecture as this sort of box-ticking exercise that allows them to promote themselves as being more woke than the rest of their peers (eg, Diangelo getting paid to do some antiracist consultant training to employees at a company, and regardless of how fruitful it actually is, it still provides value to the company as a means of conveying to everyone else just how serious they are about fighting racism)?

I disagree with your overarching characterization, clearly. Definitely not getting into the weeds about that with a stranger, and frankly much of what you've said and the way you've said it is very familiar to me and does not suggest to me that it would be at all productive. I'm sure you'd say the same about me in this case, right? I'd rather not continue.

I’ll be interested in seeing if ALU links up with an established union or not. Pros and Cons to either option.

Yepp. I'm a software engineer and when I opened StackOverflow today, the website was basically unreadable as if it were made for 3D glasses until I found a toggle on the bottom of the site lol

Apparently the union filed for election with only 30% of the bargaining unit on authorization cards. That’s really fascinating because conventional organizing wisdom has always been you need 70%+ of your coworkers signed up to even hope it be successful in a union vote.

I remember the first organizing campaign i worked on fizzled out because even though workers were saying they thought they could win, higher ups at the Local wouldn’t move forward until we had 75% of members signed up. We broke 50% and just let it die. This is why you let the actual workers/members lead campaigns.

So, who in here is going to talk to their coworkers and see if you can get 30% of them signed up on authorization cards?

In 2015 a friend of mine posted my number on Craigslist with a photo/bio of an attractive young woman that was new to town and looking for fun. It was a nightmare. I was overwhelmed with texts, calls, and unsolicited dick pictures.

I pivoted to asking these people for screenshots of their bank accounts, which was fun for awhile but then turned sad when someone sent me that they had $27. I was also offered the promise of drugs, and one guy was telling me about his wife that was struggling with alcoholism and had cheated on him, so he wanted to cheat on her in return.
