  2. Bone Tomahawk is amazing but I feel weird watching Cinestate's shit. Main reason I haven't gotten around to VFW, which seems right up my alley

Scream Legacy is decent for a fan film

I decided to watch Martyrs (2008) after hearing so much about it on lists of disturbing movies. I actually thought the ending was really interesting.

The climax and it’s Halloween influence makes my heart grow 3 times too big.

I think I was let down by it because You're Next is my legit favorite movie ever. Following up that was impossible for me. Death Note after that felt like diminishing returns.

  14. Hahaha I just checked and it's on Showtime, I'll watch it after this MST3K premiere

The Guest is amazing, Dan Stevens is king

  16. The Guest was good! I don't know that I have much more to say about it haha. The Halloween influence was definitely evident in a good way and it was a fun slow-burn with an admirable twist, even if I kinda called it. It was really good at what it was trying to do.

Watching Us with the fiance now, she's never seen it. We both love Get Out and I'm a big fan of this one as well.

  17. I feel like I like Us more than most people on here. It's not as good as Get Out but it's still highly enjoyable

I was deeply underwhelmed by Us. Like, it was fine, but not really that engaging as Get Out.

Get Out is better, but Us is more rewatchable.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I like Us more too. then again sophomore horrors from auteurs that are overlong, insane, clear passion-project swings for the fences are entirely my shit. I can easily see why people would prefer Get Out

  22. Yep. I have a thing for ambitious, occasionally unwieldy premises/films, even if the execution isn't perfect. You but the ticket and take the ride. I feel the same about Malignant.

A bit late but super down for a franchise bracket. Finally got around to rewatching Malignant and it was so much more fun for me once I kinda knew what I was getting into. Truly high quality cheese. Working my way through The Hitcher now and talk about a movie that wastes no time getting right to it.

Randomly started The Alpines. It’s on Amazon Prime and at least Tubi and I’m 21 minutes in and this is giving me major Incoherence / Head Count vibes. The acting (so far) isn’t as good as those films but so far I’m enjoying it.

I’d participate in a franchise bracket, but request there not be dozens of threads for it. Keep it contained.
