Interpol & spoon are both out. odd cuz there isnt a chicago date on the tour, so i was ready to assume they were a lock, but then realized they are on west coast each day of riot

Probably waiting until after the Spoon show at the Riv to add to the poster. The date is on Interpol’s site.

They have dates all 3 days of Riot with Spoon on the West Coast

and all the cities on the Interpol tour are ones they are skipping on their spring tour

Not sure of the long term history, but we did share like 10 bands with Summerfest last year fwiw

The Pretty Reckless and Halestorm announced a tour with no Chicago date. TPR had a Chicago date in 2020 that was postponed becuase of Covid and Halestorm didnt play the Chicago show on their tour with Evanescence last year, so maybe they are a possibility?

    Give what you can.

Forgot about New Pornographers. I don't think they've played Riot before? They'd be a cool thirdish line addition.

Elvis Costello & Nick Lowe are out, playing Evanston in August

Craig Finn is playing Evanston on June 29, but that wouldn't rule out the Hold Steady

I'm guessing We are the Union play too (esp with all the Riot twitter stuff w. them and Eve 6, etc), but WHO WILL BE THE OBLIGATORY 90S SKA PUNK BAND???

could this be the year Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger play?

I’m guessing Goldfinger. Doesn’t look like RBF is really active now

You say that like Goldfinger's been active. Haha.

For real, though. I kinda hope it's one of the two, and if it's RBF that they close out the Rebel Stage.

That’s odd… For some reason I had it in my mind that Goldfinger was playing shows last year. Just checked their Insta and they haven’t posted anything in over a year

    Then maybe not! Haha

I find it interesting that Lucky Boys Confusion is finally having their first Riot Fest Presents show.

Eh, they kinda pop out of nowhere sometimes for festivals so who knows. I'd imagine a big part of it just depends on how busy Feldy is with production... And he tends to be pretty busy.

In contrast, I wouldn't be shocked if Reel Big Fish announced a run of shows for late summer/early fall. I feel like they have a hard time not being on the road.

For sure! Do we think this could be the year they pop on too? They tend to just do super sporadic one-offs, right?

I’m expecting them to announce something any day now… Out of all bands, I’m surprised that RBF haven’t done any sort of tour yet since the pandemic started loosening up

I saw Catbite open for Suicide Machines last month and they were a lot of fun!
