Feel like I might get bullied for this one but uh, so there's this guy on YouTube who makes metal tracks inspired by characters from anime and video games and it actually kinda fuckin rips?

It's like if Unleash the Archers were weebs. Dude has a pretty unique voice too.

 

Glad you like it. Super similar to the first two Dissection albums, but is that a bad thing?

 

I'd put it right between Storm of the Light's Bane and The Somberlain in terms of quality. I'm legit surprised this never crossed my eyes before today because it's some high quality stuff. I'm stoked to actually see them at MDF if I can make it since seeing Dissection is no longer an option.

I'm glad AMVs have at least progressed passed putting Breaking Benjamin under clips of Ash hugging Pikachu from the first season of Pokemon.

 

Any time I think of the phrase “AMV” I start hearing “Faint” by Linkin Park in my head

I don’t know how I missed it before but damn this record is great.

 

Went and saw the Car Bomb BTBAM show last night. BTBAM killed it, the new stuff sounds fantastic live, especially Fix the Error and Bad Habits.

I 100% do not understand the appeal of Car Bomb, and their stage presence does them no favors.

 

I've never gotten through a full Car Bomb album, but I've been listening to "Sets" regularly since Penn Rollings/Bowl Ethereal shared it on FB years ago.

That song rips because it feels like a Rollings riff, but I usually get bored/distracted with their other stuff.

 

Car Bomb was great live the one time I saw them at a CMJ showcase forever and a day ago in NYC, but they were a little too mathy for me 12 years ago to make it through an album. M^6 was a great track though.
