I don't think they're "active" per se but they will play a show or two a year, usually around NJ/NY/PA. Kinda like The Starting Line.

I know Furnace Fest said they were upgrading and adding more bands than from their usual lineups, but Five Iron Frenzy even shocked me.. there is more pop punk bands than usual (they stated they were going bigger this year and with more bands it makes sense), but I never thought they'd go Canada ska punk in Alabama! cheers to them anyways

I've made like 10 changes to my original mock since yesterday and will make more (I appreciated the comments), and I'm still planning on doing mock #2 around April 21 (b/c I'm not doing it 4/20)..although I hope Riot actually releases their lineup early, but I think it'll be their usual release of early May

Give me an Alchemxy Index play through and I’m there, costs don’t matter.

I am seeing Bright Eyes right now at the Chicago Theatre and…what about a Bright Eyes/Avril Lavigne co-headliner as the Sunday headliner? With Sunny Day Real Estate thrown in as the third band on the top line. The first two hit the 2000s emo/pop/punk kids and the latter hits the 90s emo/punk kids. I guess Bright Eyes falls into both categories, but still.

The Bright Eyes show is pretty much sold out and I can’t imagine this being their only Chicago show this year.

I was at the Bright Eyes show too. When he started saying “We hope to see you again,” I thought please say in September. But then he said before Armageddon. So Bright Eyes and Alkaline Trio confirmed? Kidding!

I honestly feel like Bright Eyes is just on the edge of "too small" to be a proper headliner (or even a co-headliner) without it being billed as some sort of reunion or album play. But I also may be underestimating their popularity. I guess I just kinda feel like Riot tends to shoot for hockey arena headliners or bigger ("important" reunions being the obvious exception).

Even as a non-headliner: One thing they have against them this year is how much they're touring ahead of Riot. After spending the spring and most of the summer on the road, I don't imagine a trek back to Chicago would be very high on their priorities list.

I also tend to assume that most veteran bands who don't tour super often but are aggressively on the road for like, 3-6 months in a year are probably not going to hit up most cities again in that same year.

Misfits v. Bright Eyes would make a ton of sense, as would Bauhaus v. Avril Lavigne.

Misfits vs Bright Eyes sounds like a hilarious episode of Celebrity Deathmatch

Weren't The Raconteurs playing theaters when they headlined or am I misremembering?

Just crossed my mind that The Hold Steady has a decent chance of playing. They haven't done Riot since 2016 and haven't been in Chicago since 2019. We'll probably have a better idea once Craig announces touring plans around his new solo record.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

It was a mix of large theaters and small/medium-scale amphitheaters, depending on the city/market. Although, looking back at their 2019 tour poster, it looks like they played multiple nights at a few of the cities they played in, and they sold out a lot of dates

Two Gaslight Anthem shows in the midwest pop up on facebook, the first one being one week after Riot.

If Avril Lavigne gets announced, I'm pretty sure @sam_might_say will probably eat Kevin Lyman's delicious asshole.

I'm so sorry. But callbacks are fun!

You're doing the lord's work tracking these! Looks like another announcement at 11am EST today, eh? I'm guessing we see a Riot-sized gap in the schedule and no Chicago date...

Excited to see how it all pans out!

    Things have changed.

The Gaslight Anthem has West Coast dates every night of Riot Fest. And they're playing the Riv on 9/26.

Same! But I'm not mad about any of it. This is the best-case scenario, IMHO.
