We know it from the silence

The best is how many times I've seen huge hand carved / painted wooden Trump signs all over, in addition to his standard issue signage. People took time out of their day and spent money on supplies because they needed to have something bigger with that dude's name on it. Wild.

Conservatives who abandoned Trump see jobs, access, and influence over policy as the reward of a Clinton administration.

Republicans backing Hillary Clinton want history to reflect they didn’t help Donald Trump win the White House. But that’s not the only reason they’re bucking their party’s line.

Access, appointments and influence over a Clinton administration’s policies is the just dessert that a growing slate of conservative policy wonks, Capitol Hill veterans and former GOP administration officials say they expect for endorsing and in some cases raising money for the Democratic presidential nominee.

And they’re already getting it. From messaging help delivered by Clinton’s communications team to direct and regular access to senior staffers and in-person meetings to discuss policy and strategy, Republicans who have abandoned Trump say the Democrat has given every indication that the GOP view will be reflected in her administration.

I honestly don't think I've seen a single Trump sign or sticker in person at all. I've only seen a couple Clinton signs, and definitely saw more Sanders stuff when he was still in the race.

There is a weird house I walk by in Philly that has a hanging picture of Hillary with candles surrounding her in the front window, so that could count for like 10 bumper stickers

"A wasted vote is a vote that provides no determination or effect on the final outcome of the election. According to Wikipedia: “Wasted votes are votes cast for losing candidates or votes cast for winning candidates in excess of the number required for victory. For example, in the UK general election of 2005, 52% of votes were cast for losing candidates and 18% were excess votes – a total of 70% wasted votes.”

There are two kinds of wasted votes that mathematically have no effect on the final election:

    1. Votes cast for candidates who did not win
    2. Excess votes cast for winning candidates
Clearly, neither of these kinds of votes statistically affect the election. However, many arguments only mention the first type without mentioning the second. Mathematically and logically, both categories are ineffectual votes...

When people look at the 7% and tell you that you must vote a certain way, it is assuming you will somehow influence the entire 7%. However, we have seen that you are just one voter, and that your voting power is a very tiny number by itself. You cannot be entirely responsible for a candidate winning or losing with your single vote. In theory, it’s mathematically possible for one vote to decide an election, but given there are an exponential number of possible scenarios with millions of voters (imagine raising a few million to an exponent), it’s astronomically unlikely, especially if you live in a non-battleground state.

It’s also astronomically unlikely that all 7% (8,820,000 people) would vote for who they polled for. Even if you gave each voter a 99% chance of voting for who they polled for, the chance that all of them would vote the way they polled is (0.99) to the power of 8,820,000, which is less than 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%

Individuals are not entire blocks of voters, and it’s problematic to treat them as such."

All depends on where you are in a solid blue or red state. I live in eastern Long island and I see more pro Trump stuff than I do Hillary. I went to brunch in Queens this weekend and it's all Hillary and Bernie there.

I gave someone the right of way the other day only to see a Trump sticker. Don't think the driver will ever know that a Muslim was nice to her that day.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

As a white guy that believes that absolutely EVERYONE is equal, and should be treated as such, it honestly hurts my heart to see how people respond to Kaepernick. To say that Kap is sympathetic to ISIS is SO far fetched, and I don't even have the words to describe how I feel about it. How can this type of public racism still exist, and get published on an every day basis?

GOP Rep. Steve King: Colin Kaepernick's activism 'sympathetic to ISIS'

I wish everyone wanting to chime in with an illegitimate opinion could understand he's not anti USA, he's not anti Military, he's not even anti Police...he's simply bringing attention to the fact police are trigger happy with Persons of Color than they are with Whites, and there is corruption/racism in many cities law enforcement agencies that PROVES it.

  15. I'll admit, I have Vox in my RSS feed because I feel like it's a better news site than a lot of alternatives, though I definitely agree with a lot of its criticisms. Could you recommend a couple of better sites?

  17. I live in Inglewood. There are no signs of Trump support anywhere near me.

There's a reason his campaign stop was in Orange County, not Los Angeles.

That being said, my brother (who lives in the SF Bay Area) just saw a Trump evangelist on the train yesterday on his way to work who had a swastika tattooed prominently on her chest, so... there's that.

Voter enthusiasm is roughly equal between the two candidates. This is data we have. And polls had Clinton over Sanders voters 55/44 in enthusiasm as well.

It's almost like the candidate you liked lost and you're looking to confirm your bias.
