Taking Back Sunday Band • Page 368

  1. The last album I fully loved was Louder Now. I was big on New Again when it came out, despite the bizarre reception it got, and still love half of it. Since the reunion, only a couple songs from the follow ups hit me.

I don't know what I want from this band anymore, especially after such a long gap. I also assume what I'd love to hear is very different than where their heads musically are at right now. I doubt any dreamed line up changes would drastically change their trajectory, and I'm at peace with that.

Only reason TAYF is so low, is as an adult I just don't revisit it nearly as much anymore. Not that it's not great, I just don't relate to it the same way anymore.

Tidal Wave just ain’t it. I’m content if TAYF is high on my list cause of my own nostalgia but it shocks me that people love that album. Perhaps it’s just not for me in the slightest

    Are You Watching Closely?

I pretty much only listen to You Know How I Do and Great Romances from Bamboozle... Other than that, Im with the guy above about it being live in person

If anyone wants to ask Fred some stuff one-on-one (or get a guitar lesson) here's your shot

Agreed and this band is a nostalgia act overall for me....the sound never evolved which I think is why I stopped listening as my music tastes changed

It’s so weird that they don’t have an album ready to go. Like… what have you been doing since 2016?

What I miss most about Fred is that he went hard on the vocals every performance he was in the band. John and Adam both just sound like they are playing karaoke with the music nowadays. It’s a lot better on the newer music, but they refuse to focus on playing more than 4 songs from the last 2 records in an 18 song set list.

All Ready To Go was a great song and I hope they echo that energy on the next record.

yeah that made no sense. TAYF and LN sound drastically different, nevermind TAYF and TIdal Wave.

    their sound has definitely evolved.

Fred talked about Sleep and Brooklyn during tonight's stream. Nothing major just a couple insights. He also did an acoustic version of Miami.

He's been doing live youtube streams every Thursday where he talks about a bunch of different stuff and plays acoustic version of pretty much anything from his career.

They were touring nonstop right up until the pandemic hit. They had a huge 20th anniversary tour in 2019. When the pandemic hit, they took it seriously and did not see each other for a long time, it seems like. Really nothing more to it.

I am so glad this recording exists. It really captures the passion behind the songs in those days.
