IMO: It gets the criticism because of the math. It's easier to blame the math, which someone can say would have directly changed the outcome, versus blaming specifics or nuances of a campaign that may or may not have changed the outcome. Occam's razor: it's the easiest thing to blame.

  2. Hahaha. I didn't catch that until now.

(And yet Chelsea got slammed by the media for not being there on the first day of school because she was helping with the campaign yesterday.)

  3. Upshot just moved:
The Upshot’s elections model suggests that Hillary Clinton is favored to win the presidency, based on the latest state and national polls. A victory by Mr. Trump remains quite possible: Mrs. Clinton’s chance of losing is about the same as the probability that an N.F.L. kicker misses a 45-yard field goal.

Wow. If Hillary can't raise a daughter that goes to her child's first day of preschool, how can she run the country?!? If Chelsea can't show up to her daughter's first day of preschool, how can we expect her to carry out the very important, "child of the president" duties?!?!

sarcasm of course, but holy shit media

This will not get the same amount of attention as the DNC hacks did.

  10. I really just don't think "I haven't been to a hospital since I was 11" counts as a bragging right when you've got the money to make the doctors come to you.

Which, if he got medical deferments, cancer screenings, life insurance policies... he must have. And if he hasn't, that just seems irresponsible.

He's speaking in the third-person. The people in the room think he is talking about Jesus.

I think we can just say point blank that white America is racist regardless of voting habits. I really hope no one was under the illusion that no Clinton supporter is racist and that it's just the Trump supporters, but I suppose it's easier for someone to fool themselves into believing such if they don't experience racism on a regular basis. Idk this poll is just not newsworthy to me at all haha

I think it speaks to this idea that A)Donald Trump's constituency is solely problematic and B) that her and her supporters are the sole thing that stands between us and fascism.

  19. I think my argument would be that it's uniquely problematic, not solely.

I'm speaking mostly to the narrative espoused by liberal outlets and others. But, I would agree, despite drawing from the same white supremacist well.

On a semi-related note, someone told me that Trump is going to send me back to Africa today. I sent him home without pay.

It's a type of problematic that didn't crop up out of no where. Liberals have a lot to do with the forging of racial resentment that's bolstering Trump. I just wish I heard more from Democrats on that.

It just comes off to me as willfully ignorant for anyone to believe either of those scenarios.
