I really like this album. Its so much fun. Gonna probably get a lot of plays while im out on runs in warmer temperatures.

 

Oh wow with the amount of promo the past two weeks i'd assume higher than #10

 

Damn, not her best by a long shot but hey it isn’t the 00’s anymore.

Personally I think they could have released another video and really pushed it. Bite Me was an awesome starter but the fact they didn’t do a video for Love It or another song was disappointing.

 

Haha guess that shows you targeted advertising works. I saw nonstop Avril advertising for like 2 months now

 

It seemed like quite a quick roll-out to me? Didn't feel like there was much wait time between Bite Me and album release (it was three months, but felt a lot less).

 

Decided to check this out on a whim.

I think Kiss Me and FU are my favorites.

Bois Lie is the worst song by far. I feel like Bois Lie is for 12 year olds. And MGK? Gross. Big miss for me.

“wifey” in Bite Me is pretty cringe. What grown adult who isn’t an idiot actually says that?

overall, I’m positive on the album. It’s the first time I’ve ever bothered to listen to a full Avril album.

 

Almost exactly my thoughts as well.
Absolutely hate the "wifey" in Bite Me, otherwise pretty good song.
I think Cannonball and Deja Vu are my favorites.

Only other Avril songs I'm even remotely familiar with prior to this are the hits and I'm With You

 

Y’all should probably listen to Let Go.

Is it an unpopular opinion that Best Damn Thing is her best album? It's by far her most consistent imo

 

Let Go and Under My Skin are top tier Avril for sure.

Best Damn Thing is 3rd for me.

This album and Goodbye Lullaby are tied 4th at the moment.

Her self titled and Head Above Water are bottom tier. She was definitely trying to go in a more mature / pop direction on these which always felt like an identity crisis to me.

What’s wrong with the word “wifey” in this context, you weirdos? I mean, the song is called “Bite Me,” lol. It’s a playful pop punk “fuck you” break up song.

Didn't know adults weren’t allowed to have dumb fun.

 

It just bothers me to no end when anybody uses "wifey" or "hubby" to refer to their significant other, not specific to Avril.

 

It’s just a terrible word.

So, on XM Radio, theres a station dedicated for her (and her favorite artists) for a few days so Im listening....

How did I not know about her music? (She said shes been around 20 years now!) and I know literally nothing (off the top of my head),

She sounds pop punk to me (and for me, that means All Time Low, Blink, even Joan Jett-ish)

I heard the blackbear song and MGK song - and she said she was working with Hoppus and Barker, so Ill listen for those.

Just interseting I completely missed the boat on her - I knew her name, but didnt catch on at all. The songs I heard were certainly catchy enough.

 

Wild you've not heard her music at some point or another haha.

 

How did I miss it? for 20 years! I knew the name, but truly, I dont think I listened at all.
