I was very suprised that MCR tickets for their shows here in England are £65+ fees ($50ish) thought they would be a lot higher. Hella Mega tour were about £80+fees if i remember correctly.

I’d love to see what MCR’s guarantees are for an arena show. They couldn’t have picked a better time for a cash grab reunion, good for them. Diapers for the kids ain’t cheap lol

    Things have changed.

Unless they seriously mismanaged their pre-hiatus money, they were all multimillionaires.

This. I’m shocked by how much they have grown during their hiatus. Danger Days was a huge flop for them and their momentum.

This. I'm blown away by how much they have exploded. Even in 2005 when they were huge i was able to buy a floor ticket like 2 weeks before the concert. Before they went on hiatus I remember they played the Hollywood Palladium which holds 4k and there were still tickets available the day of the show.

My hot topic was giving away free tickets to that tour with a purchase. That’s how I got my tickets to the tower theater show of that tour and it was empty

MCR ticket prices also reflect the enormous increased cost of touring. I imagine they are leveling up with production as well so I bet their guarantee is probably $700-800k/night. This inflation going on right now is seriously no joke and I do wonder if it will start to affect overall ticket sales before the industry takes notice and has to do some adjusting.

Comparing their prices to other tours is the most shocking part. Billie and Dua’s arena tours had VERY high production/staging, I doubt MCR is doing anything over the top (they never were big on stage production, even at their peak). Either MCR or Live Nation is making a incredible amount of money on this tour.

15-20 years ago it was pretty common to see highschoolers in like Nirvana/Sublime/etc shirts, it's wild to see kids now in MCR shirts. I did not expect them to be the Nirvana or whoever of our time, but it kinda seems that's what happened

Well Billie and Dua tickets are also insanely expensive though. My 300 level tickets for Billie were $100 each. I'm not disagreeing the band and live nation are still making a huge profit though or defending the high prices, just saying it's not like the MCR tickets are wildly more expensive. But they are definitely capitalizing on the reunion knowing people will do anything to see them + the uncertainty of how permanent the reunion is.

Billie really should've made the jump to stadiums for this tour. She's far too big for arenas right now.

LOL WHAT? Did you not go to their Black Parade tour in 2007? Flame throwers, full props, giant stage presence.

  22. really surprised that Franz Ferdinand still hasn't announced any shows outside of Europe for their greatest hits release, but there's this great gap in their dates from late-May to mid-October, which could mean an Americas run and/or at least some festivals?

Struck out trying to get GA tickets for MCR's new Brooklyn show (SeatGeek is confusing in terms of trying to select tickets). FYI, they were faced at $250 + fees.
