I threw this on Reddit earlier today, but here’s my current mock lineup

Am I right in assuming that main stage on Saturday would be the Misfits, Social Distortion, the Distillers, Agent Orange, and Direct Hit? That's a pretty fun billing, if so!

I disagree with a few of the picks in terms of their viability/likelihood... But this is one of the better mocks I've seen.

If at least 50% of this is accurate, it'll be a fun one!

Third headliner thought: Dave Matthews Band

Now, they may be too not in line with the "Riot" vibe , and maybe Lolla scooped them up, but they are not coming to Chicago at all this year (just Alpine which is not *that* close) and they literally always come to Tinley Park or Northerly Island, which seems strange to me and makes me think they are playing one of the festivals here.

I'm not saying this would be a good choice, I know people have their opinions on them, but they are a 90s alt rock band that have a very solid fanbase/following.

I'm probably wrong about this though lol

Hard pass on dmb for both lolla and riot. Pretty sure they played 2 dates last year here anyways

Kind of. They really don't have a Chicago area show and they are literally here every year.

I want it to happen now just to see the reaction of everyone LOL.

Come on, My Chemical Romance/Misfits/Dave Matthews, it flows perfectly :P

HAH! I thought so. Yeah. No. The odds of them booking DMB are straight-up zero. I'd put my money on Lolla.

An interesting artist that might actually fit the Riot vibe that would cause people to arguably get even more upset? Ke$ha.

Mandatory Dave Matthews river incident post.

Would love Riot to book them just for the merch they will make based on the river incident

Okay, real talk. What about Foo Fighters? They played Lolla last year, (so they are not playing this year), have been throwing themselves on a lot of festivals including rock focused ones, and maybe are not as expensive to book as people think. Plus Dave seems like a guy who would really embrace playing Riot Fest.

Also I and others could see them for not ridiculous prices haha.

The Colour and the Shape 25 year anniversary album play even?

Edit: Jk they are in South Dakota the Sunday of Riot Fest soooo nevermind

Riot dumps the port-a-potties on them during their set

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

I desperately want them to do this, but treat it like dumping Gatorade on a coach after a football game.

Foo Fighters cost over a million dollars to book. They're more expensive than MCR or Misfits, no way do all three headline the same year.

Danzig has a long history with Riot, so maybe they negotiated a better deal for them but I know the Misfits usual guarantee was more than you'd think.

actually I have the main stage as Moss Icon into Agent Orange into Mastadon into Faith No More into Misfits.

Distillers into Social Distortion closes out the Roots stage.

ironically I had Direct Hit opening the main stage at first and then changed it because I figured Moss Icon is a rarer act and fits better with that group.

Yeah, I really think the #3 headliner is going to be a dip down from MCR and the Misfits. I'm expecting something along the lines of what we had in 2018/2019 where there's no big headliner on Sunday but a decent enough headliner and a strong Rise/Radical stage headliner.

Interesting. I was assuming Faith No More was closing out the stage opposite the Misfits. I kinda wouldn't anticipate Social Distortion playing the same time or overlapping at all with the Misfits - but definitely closing out a stage if they are on Rise/Radical.

EDIT: As part of the mock. FNM won't be playing shows this year, I'm sure.

Faith No More cancelled their Summer dates in Europe, so I doubt they'll be back on tour a month later

MC5 just announced a tour without a Chicago date, so I think they are very likely

With them playing Chicago 3 times last year and 2 times in Milwaukee (upcoming show in April up there) I really hope they don’t play Chicago a single time this year and they are my fave band.

this is off topic (but who knows, maybe not, cuz there is always crossover potential)... but who do you think # 2 & 3 could be? (they already announce 1 as hollywood undead this morning). i know i said this last year, but i love BRRF slow drip of artist announcements, so much better fan engagement than the Riotfest snark, haha

i got real excited that 2 could be Finch, but on setlist.fm their last east coast shows were 2015 so not as excited. and i really dont even have a guess for 3
