Seeing people boycotting Russian businesses and overall looking down on them as if it's somehow their fault because is like when people stopped going to Chinese restaurants and had more hate toward Asians because of the pandemic

 

Unrelated to politics but seeing as how this is the most active thread I frequent, does anyone do copywriting/know anything about it? I'm thinking of making a career change at age 33 because I'm a moron and the industry has me intrigued

 

Copywriter here… been doing it since 2016 (when I was 32) with no formal training. Started out as a journalist then did public relations work. I can’t offer much advice, but what helps is reading as many marketing campaigns as you can from various industries, adopting a writing style to appeal to a mass audience. I’ve worked mostly in retail. You can probably find resources for writing styles. Basically you have to think of catchy marketing phrases. Considering I’ve spent a lifetime consuming commercials and ads, it helps with writing.

If you’re looking into a career change, your best bet is temp jobs. Pay can sometimes be not be great but it’s a start… can lead into permanent positions.

I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone watching campaign commercials for the Ohio primary races. All the ads are based on whether or not a candidate supports Trump or not. Or what Trump said about them.
