I was supposed to see Thousand Below at the BAAO tour a few weeks back and they dropped out, this will make up for it

There are quite a lot of bands postponing European tours. I think it is mainly because each country has different rules and it does not make financial sense to only do short runs in fewer countries. I read a really interesting article last week that here in England saying most shows/tours/festivals are running without insurance for any cancellations when the tour starts. ‘Working class people are getting priced out’: cost-of-living crisis spreads to live music

Music agent Natasha Gregory, who is working on the current Idles tour (tickets for which are priced just below £30, with booking fees on top), confirms what Parmley says: “Tour-related costs are through the roof at the moment.” According to Gregory, part of that is due to requiring extra staff for Covid-related checks and cleaning; tests and visas when travelling between markets (the latter due to Brexit); an increase in venue hire fees, and having to change plans or refund tickets as a result of the evolving Covid-19 situation.

“Finally, no one has insurance for these shows, which is impossible to get against Covid,” she says. “If a tour has to be cancelled last minute, no one gets their money back. It’s a big risk for many bands, so you have to add more contingency costs.”

Weezer's most punk songs with a bit more angst, yelling, & self-deprecation with very blatant social commentary, & a very cringey twitter/social media presence.

Edit: A lot of people can't stand them, a lot of people love them. I'm the latter, & catch them every time they tour

this is playing at a venue in buffalo that hasn’t held a show in like maybe a decade? it used to be a great place like 97-03 for punk shows.

how is it still in existence if it hasn't had a show in a decade? or did it pivot to like a brewery or something to stay open but not do concerts?

  11. It fizzled out in the 00s, got bought in '09, and that new owner didn't start redoing it until 2019.
I'm pretty sure it was empty in the interim?

Ok same thing with Chicago, didn't even catch that there's only one dot there now until I saw your post. Wonder what's going on with that

this is huge if they’re going to start having shows there again. i remember going to the Mxpx/Good Charlotte tour in like 2000-ish there? also so many good Snapcase shows there, pretty they did a show with AFI supporting at one point?

Showplace has had shows from like 2019 onward. Not sure if it's the room booking or outside promoters.

Was supposed to see Rod Wave but Benny The Butcher, Bret Michaels, etc all have had shows there in the last couple years. Heard the room's not the best to see a show in and is kind of shot.

The lead singer for Heart Attack Man literally made a song mocking notes app apologies and also defended Better Off when that whole thing went down with their touring member. Also like mentioned above he’s an edgelord on Twitter sometimes.

I've never interpreted HAM's Notes App song as making fun of victims in an insensitive way. I've always taken it as making fun of dudes that address serious allegations of sexual assault at them and finding any way they can to avoid responsibility in a format that implies trying to take responsibility. I've always taken it on the right side of the conversation.

I feel like it's pretty clearly meant to be making fun of notes app apologies.

    "From my perspective
    I'm exempt from consequences
I thought I’d get away with it, but didn't"

"I know it’s only been a week since you outed me
    But I've been changing"

Cool 2 Me off their new EP has a similar theme.

You worded this much more eloquently than I would have, but I agree. I understand the satirical take was seen as insensitive by some, but the intent was very clearly calling out the dude bros who make these shitty forced notes app apologies

Yeah I’m curious too. Also, wasn’t there also a Seattle date for this tour? I could’ve sworn there was a Seattle date in between San Fran and Denver. Or am I tripping? When FoT got announced as an opener I thought oh, they’ll probably be on the Seattle show,” but now there isn’t one? Or maybe there was never one to begin with and I’m having a massive Mandela moment. Yikes
