I’ve been applying to jobs and haven’t submitted a single cover letter, fuck that. Would also never in a million years send someone a thank you note lmao

Many places are hurting for workers rn (and not just the low paying ones), imo it’s the best time to start looking for a new job

I feel like the thank you note is just used by employers to sift through who is too nice to cause a fuss when they’re exploited until they quit or die.

  4. I....heavily disagree. What evidence is there at all that public opinion has influenced anything Russia has done with this? What evidence is there that they planned on invading but changed those plans? What *evidence* has been disclosed? "The US believes Russia is going to invade" is not disclosure of intelligence or evidence

I can confirm that several relatives asked me if I was safe from the "looters/rioters". On my residential, borderline suburban street in Queens. My city councilman led some "march for unity" or some crap like that down the main road of my neighborhood, but that's about as riotous as my neighborhood got. And someone I know who was living in Harlem at the time received many of the same concerned questions, but there was nothing going on there either. It was a bit strange, but I just have to assume that it's Fox News' fault.

    That's a good question.
My answer is that I don't really need to, what matters is that Russia is not controlling the narrative.
I haven't looked directly at the evidence laid out, but what I've seen mentioned is that satellite imagery is on another level now. And 150k troops aren't surrounding Ukraine for defensive purposes.

Well, my evidence is that even here it's been constantly on the news, so public perception is a lot less muddier than it was for Crimea.
I'm sure the US has a minimum of espionage going on, but the most important thing is honestly not letting Russia set a narrative by preemptively calling them out. It clearly matters to them or Crimea would have happened officially.

Seems like a great midterm strategy. What happened to breaking up BBB and getting what you can passed?

Wasn't the whole naming convention designed to get us away from the whole "BA.2 variant" problem? Why is this not some new greek letter?

I believe it's because it's still technically considered to be "Omicron" and so is already considered to be a variant of concern. So, when they talk about Omicron, it includes both BA.1 and BA.2. I think it's a bit like how when Delta's AY.2 subvariant was being referred to as "Delta+" rather than getting a brand new letter.

In other variant news, apparently Deltacron was discovered a few days ago in the UK (this is different than the guy in Cyprus who thought he found it but it ended up being lab contamination). So that's fun

i grew up in the exact kind of suburbs being discussed, and you can give these people the benefit of the doubt all you want and assume they arent racist just because they want their neighborhoods to be nice and quiet. but im going to let you in on a little secret: most of the time, they're racist. just trust me on it. at best, they benefit from a system that has granted them the luxuries of suburbia because of their race and they dont think anyone who has less money than them should be able to do the same, at worst, they actively shut out people who dont look like them, who dont come from where they come from, and they do it under the guise of "clean and quiet neighborhoods." they got pissed at my school district for bussing in kids from the city out to the super nice nationally ranked school district in the suburbs. again, getting mad under the guise of wanting "clean and quiet schools," but really just hating the idea of POC interacting with their white children and benefiting from a better education system that should be for whites only.
