I might like that more than the original. Unreal how good these guys are.

I've been a gigantic Pumpkins fan since I can remember so no covers will ever touch songs like 1979 but it's always nice to see bands do it right.

Thrice and Bad Rabbits are doing it very right.

 

Barbie Girl by Aqua? Nookie by Limp Bizkit?

Actually he could probably make Nookie dope, on second thought.

Cymbals Eat Guitars comes out this week

 

Love that little 'twang' that Dustin has developed over the years...the little break in his voice at the end of some words. Not sure what the musical term is for that but 'twang' seems to work .

 

This name pops up often on here, but I haven't listened to them yet. Maybe it's time to give them a chance, any RIYLs?

 

My go-tos would be Cursive, Modest Mouse, and Brand New. Their singer's voice takes a little getting used to, but once you embrace it, they really are an amazing indie-rock band. I'd highly recommend starting with their last album, LOSE.
