I think that both you and I consistently do multiple covers. But you were seriously ON FIRE last month.

 

And then it ended up being probably our least listened to comp... bummer too. Everyone did great on it!

 

For real? That one seemed to garner a lot of attention! I thought for sure it was a big hit! Especially after listening to it. Everyone did so awesome!

Based on your stories you were very engrossed in nostalgia. All your tunes were great and had an equally endearing story behind them as choices. It's a lot more motivating to do a song that you really, really love.

 

As of today, it looks like it's had roughly 970 individual song plays and only 6 downloads... the next lowest was a tie Saves The Day and MIXTAPE: Best of 2015, which each had 13 downloads. Haha but yeah... I guess oldies aren't as popular here. I also feel like only 2 or 3 of us reviewed the Oldies comp in this thread. Maybe I'm wrong.

 

STILL! STD was popping and best of 2015 got a lot of positive comments in the news thead... I wasn't even doing these back then and I remember reading so many nice comments!

 

STD and Best of 2015 each got a lot more plays than the Oldies one, I think. And yeah, each of those were pretty popular here in this thread and also in news comments. The Oldies comp didn't get very many comments in the news section though, from what I remember. And very little reaction in here too. It's cool though. I don't expect each comp to be praised. Plus, a lot of times, older comps randomly get lots of attention later on too. Plus, who really cares? Haha. I'm proud of all of us for getting songs recorded in a relatively small window of time each month. This is one of the funnest thing I do each month. I like participating, and I especially like seeing other people follow through and do it too. I'll keep doing these until I'm the last one that submits regularly, haha.

 

Hey are we going to do a compilation in November while you're away, Brad?

I ask because I'd like to volunteer to give you a hand on collecting and putting one together for that month if it's going to be too hard for you.

That snuck up on me. I had a last minute work trip that came up and haven't had any time in my studio this past week to work on a cover. I hate to do it, but I think I gotta drop off this one.

 

Got the bulk of my tracking done for If I Believe You.

All that's left is backup vocals and lead guitar. I also bought an old chord-organ (sounds like an accordion but electric for the fan instead of pumping) which I might do a track of just to see how it sits in a more laid back mix... then I'll get to doing some post-production shit and mixing.

I'll def have my 2nd cover done. Just a matter of how good it'll sound. I tracked all the main vocals and rhythm guitar in one take so, I'm stuck with their levels.
