    The rivalry is back on

Missing the window to interview O’Connell is pretty bad re: Jacksonville

Otherwise, idk that I agree with the decision to keep Baalke, but once that decision was made, it would have been even more of a clown show move for the Jags to have had him participate in interviews with Leftwich and then promptly fire him when Leftwich had the (reasonable) stipulation of not accepting unless he was coming in new with a new GM. That is a reasonable move to say “this isn’t a good fit right now — let’s keep looking” for both parties

Truthfully, I don’t get the overreactions to some coaching hires. You truly have no idea (most of the time) how it’s going to work out. I think the Eagles were the last team to hire a head coach back in 2016 and they ended up with Doug instead of Ben McAdoo who they were more interested in at the time. Turns out, Doug helped them win a super bowl around the time the Giants fired McAdoo lol

Hell, even recently, the Eagles look like they got a better head coach in Nick Sirianni than most other teams last offseason and the Eagles were the last team to hire a head coach because they got started late.

I’ll reserve judgment on just about any hire until after and year or two. With that said, the Jags are gonna do what the Jags always do.

I think Richard would be my preference of these plus Schwartz + the current Jacksonville guy, but it looks like regardless, they’re probably ditching the Tampa-2

(although I’ve read that there’s a lot of mutual interest in Lovie Smith whenever the Texans figure their coaching situation out, so maybe that won’t be the case after all)

Richard would be real interesting considering the consistent level of good play he’s gotten out of young DBs in NO

So I have read a lot from the Michigan insider things when it comes to Harbaugh and I think the consensus is that at this point the only realistic option for him is Miami. That said it comes down to does Ross want to take him from his alma mater and/or does he even consider him a good fit. Sounds like many other organizations including the Raiders consider him too much of a headache and would wear out his welcome. There has been some chatter that 49ers have essentially have blackballed him based of his time there and that many teams view him as too much of a "unique" personality to deal with.

I think there is something also to be said that you have two Super Bowl head coaches in their late thirties while Harbaugh is darn near fifty. Plus does his style of offense even fit that much in today's NFL?

Honestly, could see Jim taking that Vikings interview to prove he's serious about leaving UM for the NFL again, forcing Ross' hand that he's leaving regardless, so it might as well be you that hires me.

But also weird that he didn’t go to the raiders, did he just not want it?

Raiders did not want him. The fact that they didn't even interview him shows that.

yeah, when Ross spoke after Flores was fired he was asked about Harbaugh...what he said was that he wasn't going to be the one to force Harbaugh out of coaching at Michigan. But, if Harbaugh has decided on his own that he wants to go back to the NFL, I agree....Ross needs to just open the checkbook

    fuck Ross either way tbh

The fact of the matter is Jim Harbaugh is very much an "acquired taste".

I think the lack of interviews shows that and the only interview he has had so far being what seems like a favor interview at that. Ross might be the only owner/team who is willing to deal with it.

Honestly always enjoyed rooting against Jim Harbaugh, but I do find his sideline tantrums funny. Some of the best in the league
