Also you've been hyping this VEER guy for months now, to the extent where its one of the biggest memes in the company. Rumble seemed like a good time to get a cheep pop and have him actually show up.

But using both members of a tag team isn't that usual rumble procedure? Sure it might be more fun if you didn't. Especially if you don't use them together that much. But wasn't too surprised by that.

 

Veer would have been an actual highlight.

Oh and where the fuck is Xia Li? She’s the only woman aside from Alexa that wasn’t in the match. Did she debut only to get shelved immediately?

 

I’ve not heard of Veer until this moment wild they signed one of the pitchers from the reality show like 15 years ago.

Ronda/Charlotte is going to be such a wet fart. Legitimately would not surprise me to see Charlotte go over or a no finish there either. Brock and Roman might have an entertaining build but I don't think there's anywhere to go with the match to make it entertaining. The story has been done to death at this point.

Who knows what they'll do with Bobby - apparently they have literally nothing in place for him right now. So I'm sure whatever he ends up doing will go on like 2nd or something and not get enough time.

 

i'm heavily considering skipping WM this year. no way will i sit through two days of recycled garbage. the rumble match is always a favorite of mine but this one sucked. you usually have someone in the match coming out looking good, like Bianca back in her first one, but neither of them had anyone looking like a future threat. looking forward to AEW on Wednesday.

 

I keep thinking about how much potential that Seth Roman match had. That could have been such a great Mania build up too… instead we get Lesnar of course.

it’s probably going to be some kind of a triple threat or Drew which seems very played out. They have no chemistry at all. Wouldn’t be shocked if it was another big e program too which is flat.

Eh, its hit or miss. For example they definitely had multiple years where the New Day picked a single member.

I really cant think of a year either where they had more than like 2-3 tag teams. You'd usually get New Day + Gallows/Anderson or New Day + The Bar...basically teams with believable singles guys.

 

I thought the Seth match was great, even with the ending. It was a little gratuitous at the end, but effective, no less.

 

Why are the other belts not defended on big PPV like the RR? How does that make any sense?

 

So it’s been a negative 24 hours for most of us overall with this thread, so I thought I’d share something heartwarming and put some good energy out there.

last night before the Rumble, Tommy End/Malakai Black did his first Twitch stream in like 6 months. It was super fun, and I was able to gift 10 subs in exchange for a personalized signed 8X10 of Malakai Black in AEW (very similar if not the same to this one)

Well, one it was cool to see the House of Black discussion going on, but two, this was my first twitch experience in like 3 years. At the end of the stream Tommy was like “so at the end of these, I like to raid a small streamer to help them feel wonderful and really make their day.” So he found one someone recommended and it was for the new Pokémon Arceus game. This person had like maybe 30 subscribers. So we raided it, and it was just the coolest feeling to see someone have their day made in such a personal and vibrant way.

I love community. We can truly forget about the best of us because all we see is how shitty and horrific humans can be.

SRS had the producers before the match even started and gets the producers for every show.

It was Abyss, Shawn Daivari, Jamie Noble, and Adam Pearce

 

The Rumbles take up an hour each so the show can really only have 5-6 matches total, and you probably don’t want them to only be title matches. Plus the mid card champs are usually in the rumble, so they’d all be doing double duty

 

There were a few times in the attitude era where they would defend the mid card belts and still enter the rumble.

Speedball, Taurus, Garcia, Rush are in the semifinals

 

Lio Rush was injured during his PWG BOLA match with Buddy Matthews and had to go to the hospital.
