It's supposedly much more like an RPG. Skyrim, Cyberpunk, Witcher and others always brag about how detailed their quests and dialogue are so I don't see how this is any different from that.

 

I mean, it can be dumb when other games do it too...

 

it means very little other than there's probably a lot of detailed voice audio. games like dragon age and witcher have massive word counts but so much of that is either party banter or civilian conversations in the background that some people may never even hear. it says nothing about the quality of the story, other than that you can assume it'll be pretty story heavy and dense in dialogue both in its cutscenes and in the open world. you probably wont hear more than half of those words on an initial playthrough, maybe even less.

 

I mean, as someone who went to school for writing in video games, I think it's very cool and impressive that they have so many branching plots and so much dialogue.

It just matters if it's good or not.

 

also as someone who went to school for audio production its interesting to me how its woven into the games. like i already mentioned with dragon age's party banter, how many different lines were recorded and how different combinations of party members leads to so many different possibilities of little one liners you'll miss and how it keeps updating throughout the playthrough depending on where you're at in the story, there's just so much detail that goes into bringing it to life

Sony Expects Microsoft to Keep Activision Games Multiplatform

"We expect that Microsoft will abide by contractual agreements and continue to ensure Activision games are multiplatform," a Sony spokesman said Thursday.

 

There are no contractual agreements about hypothetical future CoDs I would assume

 

obv but the copium coming from the very top is extremely entertaining

 

I played the alpha for R6 Extraction a few months back and it was so fucking boring

 

Yeah the alpha wasn't super impressive, plus Ubisoft insists on putting that hash code on the whole screen as a filter so the visual language of the whole game was smothered in random yellow characters

 

Given how long I've been looking forward to this game, this sucks to read

 

Death's Door was my favorite game last year. Definitely play it if you have Game Pass.
