Not putting CoD on PS5 would be fucking stupid on Microsoft’s part if they actually did that. Like CoD is way too engrained into gaming in general to just yank it from an entire player base and tell them to kick sand if they don’t have the proper platforms to play, the backlash would be immense. I see that being more like Minecraft, MS still owns the IP but it’s still multi-platform

because they want those people to do that on Xbox. They're expecting people to move over to their platform and thus buy all their games and shit there.
Every game bought on Xbox -> Microsoft makes money. It's a very long term strategy, in the short term your thing makes more sense obvs.

There aren't many third party studios I'd 100% bet against being acquired. Rockstar is the main one that comes to mind, but after CoD being acquired, who tf knows.

 

I think CD Projekt Red's days as an independent studio are numbered.

 

I don’t play any of these games and haven’t had either of these systems in over a decade but I feel really bad for gaming fans that do.

 

If Sony has that rumored game pass thing, now would be the time to start putting that shit out.

At this point, and I wouldn’t encourage Sony to do so, I could see Sony buying up companies like SE or Atlas

 

Both Square Enix and Atlus are prime candidates for Sony, but they're already *fairly* exclusive so the point is marginal.

That said Sony owned Nixxes working on SE and Atlus ports for future PC versions would be *chef's kiss*

 

also just to clarify, Modern Warfare 2 will absolutely be on PS5, but the CoD after that 0%
