  1. @mescalineeyes so I was able to get Alyx to boot up but it's super laggy over Link; I tried over virtual desktop but it's still a bit off... I think I just need a better PC tbh

Keep dying in the final biome in Returnal. So close but so far.

you need to make sure the router is in line of sight of the headset and that you’re using the 5G network. Also your pc needs to be connected to the router with an Ethernet cable.

get some sort of overlay to check the amount of FPS you’re getting, it might just be the connection.
If you’re getting anywhere about 50, any good (and long!) usb c cable will help you remedy this situation for 20 bucks.

If you’re just getting lag, as in delayed input, and not stutter, it’s most likely your connection. Alyx will warn you if it thinks your computer isn’t up to snuff to run it.

Damn, that sounds rough. Do you need to also be standing on one foot while facing south on an odd day?

  5. I've played through Fallout 3&4 each more than once but never replayed New Vegas. idk maybe I thought because it was Obsidian it was somehow inferior? But then I played Outer Worlds on Gamepass--twice--I really liked it. So now I'm reinstalling New Vegas. I still have Hellblade installed but it's been months so I think I need to restart it (I didn't get very far) and also idk I guess I'm just craving something familiar. I thought of starting something new after finishing HZD but nothing in my backlog or on Gamepass (which I'd need to resubscribe to) looks appealing right now for some reason.

Hellblade is pretty short if you want to knock it out. I also really enjoyed the puzzles. The combat was pretty good as well.

  7. I never seem to be in the right headspace for it but I'm not really sure how to articulate why

I really didn't like New Vegas, but that's only because I think those controls and graphics are so dated and I played it recently for the first time.

It’s a very deep game emotionally and absolutely should be played with a good pair of headphones. It’s meant to really be listened/watched pretty intently like a good movie. I get it.

I’m playing borderlands 2 for the first time since I’m pretty intrigued by tiny Tina’s wonderlands

My winning run I had used one of the copy machines that let you respawn if you die.

I remember having a tricked out hollowseeker with portal beam went a long way for that biome.

Borderlands 2 is rad af, one of the few FPS campaigns I DID enjoy

  15. Once you finish the main campaign, check out the DLCs if you have them. I don't remember liking the first two DLCs very much, but the third (Badass Crater of Baddassitude) is pretty fun and the fourth (Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep) is unskippable

Yeah, it's a real shame Borderlands is made by Gearbox.

  18. BL2 was one of my all-time favs when it came out, but I also had a group to play through the entire thing in co-op with, super memorable experience

ill be playing tiny tina's assault as the new tiny tina game is the only reason im really playing it haha. its been sitting in my library for like a decade though so...may as well

  20. My PC isn't connected via ethernet and there's not really any way I can without it being a huge pain lol, I feel like it was more stutter than input delay but I'm not 100% sure, I'll give it another shot at some point

BL3 wasn't so well received, I never played it. What was wrong with it?

The characters weren’t very good and the writing was nowhere near BL2. The twins were also awful villains. The Pre-Sequel was much better.

  23. I never finished it, but from what I played it was fine, but basically not any upgrades to gameplay despite coming out 7 years after BL2. and the console version ran like dogshit when it first came out, not sure if it's since been fixed with patches but it would lag to a halt whenever you opened a menu

  24. The base game? Nothing, really; I played the hell out of it during early quarantine. Maybe the characters who were meant to be amusingly annoying were a little too annoying for some people. Maybe the most outspoken people just didn't like how "woke" it was.

My problem with it is they released two season passes for this game. The second of which included a Director's Cut that added skill trees to each of the characters. Which, cool, but as something you had to pay for? After some people were already paying for the first season pass? Kind of ridiculous and cash-grab-y. I never bought any of its DLC.
