I've cooked dinner for the girl I'm dating twice and slayed it both times. Setting unreasonable expectations I cannot live up to ftw.

You see I have battled with this from time to time, because if a girl I liked did it to me I'd feel like crap, but when you break it down sometimes we can't burden ourselves with trying to feel something for someone else who you aren't attracted to.

I'd like to hesar more from our male and female board members on what you both think on this topic?

I've said this a dozen times. I don't think you deserve sympathy if you're upset that it's been done to you, if you are someone who thinks it's OK to do it to someone else. Don't get upset if you feel it's reasonable to do to other people. I'm not sure what goes on in anyone's mind to make them think the only other choice is trying to feel something/lead someone on. You can let them down immediately if you're not interested. Just be honest.

Oh I definitely agree that it's hypocritical for sure if you have done that to someone, but what each individual thinks will differ from one to another greatly. What is always a conundrum though, as with dating in general, is that now that to a degree the process of getting to know someone is conducted via texting, before they have even met, arguably, people can choose to not to accept the consequences of decisions they make, whether or not they hurt the other person's feelings.
Until we meet that person to one another we are no one of any particular importance, maybe we think we know them, or harbour real feelings, but what the point is that I'm trying to make is, that with online dating apps, it far easier to act carelessly.

    What do others think?

Keep in mind I was talking about a scenario where absolutely zero messages were exchanged, and we didn't "match" from a swipe

Sometimes I never felt like messaging back just cuz I didn't wanna put in the effort that day. May not be true for everyone but it takes a decent amount of mental energy for me to maintain a conversation with a new person, especially a girl I might be interested in.

I wish platonic cuddling were more acceptable.

I also just wish someone would come cuddle me. And find me worthy of a date or even a compliment (irl). >.>

I want to fight the instinct to recoil and react out of spite. Your first reaction might be to build up walls or react instead of just acting with truth and kindness and vulnerability.
I want to be the type to not withhold affection and just unabashedly spread love.
    I don't know if I'm making sense.

People who kiss who are just friends. It's not complicated saying what it is. The complicated part is doing all that kissing and not having it lead to anything further.
