Pocket Casts is great.

 

Sorry for digging up an old post but I was just coming into this thread to recommend this. For those who don't know, the premise is that the host take an anonymous call from a stranger and he doesn't hang up on them for an hour. Very simple. Chris does a phenomenal job of being respectful and getting the best/most interesting side from people and it often goes into some really deep territory. "Ron Paul's Baby", ""Married to a Monster", "Make Fruit Baskets Great Again" are some of my favourites.

 

I published this on my blog and also on Medium. These are some of my favorite podcasts and some that I believe musicians would enjoy and can learn from.

5 Podcasts Musicians Can Learn From

 

Gonna start an Oasis-themed pod where I discuss each song by the band with a different guest who has never heard the song, beginning with track one album one and moving chronologically. Ideally I'd like to open with playing the song, general discussion of the track with my providing some background info and the thoughts from the guest, and then a segment discussing a lyrical passage. Obviously it'll probably go off topic at times but I'd like it to be around 30 minutes. Idk if it would interest anyone but since they're pretty much my favorite band ever and seem to have a public perception as a 1-2 hit wonder, the concept sounds great to me hah

 

I've heard their hits and a few b-sides. I'd be down!

 

Sounds great! I have some guests lined up for the first month or so but lemme know if there's a song on the back half of Definitely Maybe that you aren't familiar with at all and would be interested in doing.

 

Looking at this tracklist, I'm completely unfamiliar with every song.

 

Oh perfect! I have guests for the first six songs lined up so do you wanna do track 7? Track 8 is a pretty huge single if you'd rather do a song that is actually notable. Works either way for me. I'd just ask that you hold off on listening until we record, shouldn't be too hard haha

 

For the few of you that seemed interested, I made a feed, FB, and twitter for the pod. It's all empty right now but the first episode/art/etc. will be up before the end of the week!

Any tips/suggestions would be much appreciated, as this is the first time I've ever hosted one. Outside of working on general hosting confidence, I already have a few more ideas on how to improve for episode two, but yeah, any and all critiques are welcome.

Really love the Movie Crypt w/ Adam Green and Joe Lynch. Great guys that have such brutal honesty. Great guests usually as well.

Someone in here suggested you hate movies and I've listen to it here and there. I enjoy it but they have some weird opinions on movies sometimes.

 

i wanted to fight all of them in the TV vs Movies one.

 

Ha I haven't listened to that one but they are really confusing sometimes. They call themselves cinephiles just because they watch a lot of movies but about 80% of the movies they watch are mainstream.
