Cheugy is a good word to describe a very specific thing, even if it's unnecessarily awkward to pronounce.

And yes, complaining about cheugy is quite... cheugy.

Also, according to the CDC, a person who tests positive for COVID, can ultimately end up testing positive for up to 3 months, despite recovering/out of quarantine.

That said, my wife just texted me that her best friend's child just tested positive again for COVID. He had COVID about 2 months ago. I told her about the 3-month thing and she said the kid has a 104 fever and a cough. Scary.

My son had it over Thanksgiving, and we are fairly certain my daughter had it too (despite testing negative several times), so we were hoping we didn't have to worry about this latest surge with the two of them.

Welp….started feeling a little run down last night, started noticing more phlegm dripping back in my throat…definitely don’t feel 100% this morning. Don’t feel quite sick but don’t feel myself. Still some phlegm and that “sick” feeling in my throat if that makes sense to anyone

Still convinced that "cheugy" is a joke and no one actually uses it outside of TikTok zoomers claiming they use it. It's the IRL "dinkin flicka".

Same here this morning, and very stuffy. Hoping it's just morning allergies

We've got a cold or some illness running through our family. So far everyone with symptoms has test negative, but we're all going this morning to get tested to be sure before family comes.

This sounds like me every morning, haha. Due to allergies, I wake up every single day of my life completely stuffed up and sore throat. I cough up phlegm pretty much every single day (everyone thinks I smoke. I don't).

I must’ve had had COVID a dozen times with where I work BUT the two times I’ve actually been sick in the last two years, I tested negative both times.

Yeah I usually have some phlegm every morning as well but this is more than the usual and is accompanied by that kinda sore throat/whatever that scratchy but not really feeling is you get in your throat when you’re actually sick vs just being the phlegm lol

    Nope. Supporter

Today is exactly one year since I got my first dose of Moderna and I've been sitting here thinking of what I wanted to say. It's incredibly defeating that I had so much hope and optimism after receiving that shot that we were near the finish line (naive, I know), but a year later, we're really not in any better spot than we were on 12/23/20 on a societal level. Cases are skyrocketing, deaths are still in the thousands per day, and very little is being done by our government to protect us financially and from the virus itself.

I'm aware that most of the people dying are unvaccinated, and after the past 2 years, I
shouldn't feel bad for them for making that choice but I can't help but feel sorry for them that these people became so brainwashed by fascists who do not care about them, that it led to their demise. My wife and I spent a whole year+ of our lives not going anywhere except work, not seeing friends or family, and it feels like that was all just a waste of fucking time.

I said it when Biden got elected that if anything, he'd have a better response to Covid than Trump, and while he's saying better things publicly, his actions are no better, they're still leaving us to fend for ourselves and die. Fuck this dumb ass capitalist system that just chews us up and spits us out for the almighty dollar.

Even with Biden extending the student loan payments until May, I think I should probably just start making payments next month since I can afford to at this point. I don’t have faith that he’s actually going to end up cancelling any (especially since I went to a private university). But it would be pretty annoying if I started paying them off, he kept extending it, and then either he or congress ends up canceling it lol. But again, not having any faith in that.

Honestly, “hope for the best prepare for the worst.” If you can afford to pay, do it while interest is 0% and you can make the biggest dent in them right now. If they cancel or keep pausing them then great, if not then you’ve paid off a huge portion with no interest for a while.

I keep telling myself to pay them even though I don’t have to but…i realty don’t want to haha.

i was also one-ish years away from getting 5 year loan forgiveness but my school doesn’t count as a title 1 school this year apparently so

I haven't been making any payments on my federal loans since the pause started, but I've been lucky to still be employed through the pandemic, so I took the money that was going to the federal loans and put it toward my private loans, which were still accumulating interest. I was on track to finish paying the private loans in late 2024/early 2025, but now I'll be able to pay them off in April or May

    Not here. Isn't happening. Supporter

I feel like I should have enough income to pay on my loans but my expenses have gone up so much, mostly due to having a kid, that I’m really just treading water still. Kind of jealous of those that have the option of putting money away or paying down the loans because I agree chances are very little is going to be done about them.
I remember @spiffa0 saying something once that income plateaus but expenses never do and I feel that.
