Man I just finished rewatching Revolutions and fully teared up at the end. 12/13-year-old me was so, so stupid for disliking the sequels lol

this did not disappoint, and i suspect it’ll improve with further viewings as the last two ended up doing. it’s like, and i’m plagiarizing this from someone else, when was the last time a new release made you go “damn i need to really digest and process this 2.5 hour long, $150m+ budget blockbuster”

I just finished reloaded and honestly it was good. The park fight scene with all the Smiths overstays its welcome for sure and some of the dialogue is hits you over the head with the theme, but none of that took me out of it.

The Merovingian absolutely chews up the scenery and that extended car chase is still incredible. I also love how it deconstructs the Chosen One trope. Good movie. I’m excited to watch Revelations next.

Sequels have always ruled and I’m glad they’re being given love.

I’m not sure whether to watch the other movies again or not because during the most recent interviews Keanu said you don’t need to have seen them to understand the new movie so I’m curious if that’s true or not.

The Matrix has to have one of the most unnecessary R ratings of all time. No nudity, the violence is mild, and there is very little language. I wanted to show it to students tomorrow.

Reviews are coming in. It wouldn't be a Wachowski movie if reactions weren't all over the place. Hype

I re watched the trilogy this weekend, probably my first time in 15 years.
Reloaded was so much better than I remember it being. I definitely shit all over it when I first saw, but in retrospect it was great. Revolutions is still a major let down, though. Spent WAY too much time in Zion. There was like a 40 minute stretch with no Neo or Trinity, just focused on the battle with the machines. And something about the special effects that made those battle scenes a chore to watch. I couldn't wait for it to end.

The reviews for Resurrections are all over the place, and that's honestly got me even more hyped lol

If I could just forget it

IGN gave it a 4. Don't want to read because of spoilers, but I'm guessing I won't feel the same way.

I've learned to ignore IGN reviews. They almost never line up with reality.

I *want* to see it in theaters, but the showings in my area thursday night when i’m free may make it difficult and i wanna see this before the weekend, so it may be a couch viewing for me. Plus new york is booming with covid again so

I really wanted to see this in theaters, but omicron is getting way too crazy here and I'm visiting family for the holidays in 3 days. Will watch on Max tomorrow night, and if I want to see it again I'll probably head to IMAX after Christmas.

Damnit, I went to Rotten Tomatoes to check out reviews and accidentally saw a big spoiler. Urghhhh I'm avoiding all reviews now!

Movies typically hit HBO Max at like, 1 or 2am right?
