It's definitely happening by the end of Jan.

I don’t see that happening either. As scary as it is with the virus and new variants bands can’t withstand another full lockdown.

We're not going back to pre vaccine mode whether we should or not

i don’t think we’ll be full lockdown but there’s going to be way more cancellations than i think anyone expected. when you think about it, the amount of announcements that were made with not that much improvement in the numbers was always a little foolish

stuff has been bad for a few weeks now and it’s getting worse by the day. bands continuing to act like that isn’t happening is beyond foolish, it’s going to get people very sick

Yeah I DOUBT we’ll wind up going back into full lockdown. If anything, I just expect things to run as they have been the past few months. With the exception of mask mandates, probably

Whether or not there are official "lockdowns" the uncontrolled, pervasive spread of omicron that is already appearing in New York will be exacerbated by Christmas travel that will make a large portion of the population inactive.

  10. Some venues are trying out "boosted OR day-of testing" but idk man.

NYC public schools are going remote for at least the next week. Idk about the rest of the country but I think the tri-state area will shut down soon. I’m expecting my January shows to get canceled

Toronto/Ontario has reduced events above 1000 cap to half capacity

I had a show tonight postponed that was ~500 cap

    Cases are skyrocketing here

It’ll be interesting to see how NYC handles NYE. There’s an insane amount of major shows and events happening through the city (Phish at MSG, Odyssey, Times Square, etc).

I wouldn’t be surprised to see it all get shut down.

My university in Chicago (DePaul) is having online classes for at least the first two weeks of January, not sure about the other ones in the city.

I agree there's no way that we are going into lockdown again, but I do expect concerts and sports events being cancelled, postponed, or on limited capacity

The thing keeping me optimistic is that South Africa’s omicron spike was very short lived. Hopefully the trend follows here.

My wife went to see The Killers in a sold out show on Tuesday with her friend, they both started feeling sick after 2 days and tested positive. I got it too, probably from them, just got my results.

It was the Aragon in Chicago and she said everone was crammed in there like sardines. No masks enforced, no social distance (barely any space to breathe).

I'm all for keeping the show going but maybe it's time to put some capacity limits on these venues.

From facebook groups Im in, people tested positive after Rise Against at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, The Wonder Years at Asbury Park and Taking Back Sunday at Starland Ballroom in New Jersey.

I went to The Killers show and also Rise Against, so Im getting tested asap.

We actually all went to the Rise Against show together, they only started feeling sick when we were on our way back home. I started feeling sick 2 days after that one.

We all have mild symptoms. My wife's friend is feeling fine except she can't small or taste. My wife was feeling bad for 2 days, some shivering, fatigue and coughing. I was feeling the same for 1 day and started getting better afterwards but I still can't smell anything I have no appetite whatsoever. I tried smelling my cat's litterbox and couldn't sense anything which really says a lot.

It took my mom getting COVID (she got it from work) this past week for her to finally decide to get vaccinated and to let my brother get vaccinated (she’s in charge of his medical decisions because he’s disabled). It’s insane to me that there are still people out there that don’t care until something happens to them.

(everyone else in the family was negative).

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, me and my wife had 2 shots and her friend is boosted which kind makes sense becuase she barely felt it and we did.

    Thanks! We are getting there.

So far I can smell and taste, and didnt got any other symptoms.

None of the 3 shots had any side effects on me, so my biggest fear is being asymptomatic and having it without knowing.

I was at the rise against Aragon show and I have the booster and so far I haven’t gotten sick and I was in the thick of it all. I’ve been in the front or close to the front for every show I’ve been to this year and nothing. Guess I’ve been super lucky. I don’t have any shows now until like march of next year
