honestly, have heard it at least 6-8 times. that song in particular I just don't recall other than "this hookup scene, is... somethingsomething" at the beginning and kinda remember the melody. most of the other songs I can hear by seeing their name, other than maybe keep lookin up and what doesn't kill me. so basically that last stretch before the last two songs

 

This is how I started liking the new Wet album. Disappointed after first few listens, but started playing it as background music and now I dig it.

 

star crossed is boring and plain to me so I didn’t feel compelled to listen beyond my first like four or five times trying to get into it

 

I love the title track, but it basically sets up for a grand epic album that doesn't materialize at all. Justified is solid too, but that's all that hooks me for the most part

 

I'm giving it another year or two before saying it assertively, but "Camera Roll" might be my favorite song she's written.

I like a bunch of other songs, too, but the album as a whole is merely good, not great. I like the way she writes and sounds, so I like the album, but it's behind Golden Hour and Pageant Material for me. I haven't done my rankings yet, but it's probably in that 15-25 range on the year.

Deafheaven and Fiddlehead are definitely my favorites.

 

Top 10 albums

 

I gave it at least 15-20 listens all around and just couldn’t connect with much and the tracks I enjoyed were really hook laden like Cherry Blossom.

 

So what do we think, are we going to get any big surprise albums this Friday or are we done for the year with new releases?

Depends what ya call “big”, but The Alchemist has teased another record before the year’s end

 

I'm just wondering if anyone will do a surprise drop that like, gets people talking. I just realized NYE is a Friday, would be a damn cool day for someone like Beyoncé just to show up and drop a classic.

Worst Party Ever - Dartland, came out last Friday, but officially releases on the 17th.

 

Crazy to me how few lists so far have Pillar of Salt on them.

 

I’ve gotten used to the music press just completely ignoring Noah. I was pleasantly surprised that Stereogum ranked “Atlantis” high in its recent “Songs Phoebe Bridgers sang on this year” list.

 

Got a top 15 I'm pretty content with. Will I do a top 50? MAAAAYBE.
