I order delivery more than I should but I hate leaving the house and typically order food late at night when I want something to eat while gaming or watching a TV series.

delivery makes me too anticipatory and anxious haha so I always do pickup using the restaurant's system but I'm definitely not gonna be all

I hate when restaurants don't have an option to order online, it's 2021 (almost 2022) ya'll!!!!!

There's a local pizza place near us that's great but they haven't updated their website since it first launched in like 1999 lol and they're always so busy it takes 20 minutes to get someone on the phone to order so we hardly ever get it

I didn't do delivery for groceries for a long time, and then Covid happened, and since I was living by myself in Orlando at the time, I decided to do it to be safe. That got me heavily into it, because I'm also lazy and once I find something that adds to my laziness, it's hard for me to shake it.

There were odd instances where I'd get items I never ordered and one time my groceries were left at someone else's apartment (I went and got them while my groceries were being replaced so I got double the groceries that day). Also times I didn't get the best produce, but that's the price you pay for not doing your own shopping.

Anyway, since I had to leave Orlando and move back in with my mom and brother in Naples, I've gotten out of that habit as a matter of course. It is ultimately better to be able to go and get things firsthand, but I can absolutely see why people do delivery.

EDIT: To pivot on the subject of non-grocery food delivery, I would also start doing this for Wawa and 7-Eleven. In for a penny, in for a pound.

    wanna go for a ryyyde

I can't bring myself to do delivery 99% of the time. I'm not paying 30+ bucks for 1 or 2 meals lol. Even if I've been drinking i live in walking distance of a decent number of places anyway

I never used a food delivery service app before COVID, but I was afraid to even go indoors to pick up food in the beginning with no vaccine.

Plus I went a year without a car and was sharing with my fiance

Yep we did no contact food delivery for the first time through the apps only because those first few months of Covid we didn't really know how transmission spread all that much. Haven't really used them since though. I don't begrudge those who do, like others have said if you don't have a car and/or public transportation is sparse you don't really have a choice

Or if you do have a car, some places in big cities have absolutely 0 parking/places you can pull over to get carry out

All the food deliver apps charge so much for delivery I don't know how anyone uses them on the regular. The only time I ever order delivery is if I'm very hungover.

I'm curious if anyone has one of the food delivery apps subscriptions, do you actually save any money with fees?

How much do y'all tip delivery drivers? I usually tip 20% but idk if that's normal or not for delivery drivers.
