Big fan of same day announcement and on-sale. For the first time ever, I wasn't even 1000 people back when entering a ticketing queue. Got my tickets without the pressure of all the bots!

There's also a Maryland date happening on 5/16 that isn't included on the poster or in any of the announcements for some reason

To be honest most of the venues don't enforce any of these rules anyway. I travel for work and I go to sporting events and concerts while I'm out and about, rarely do you see people with masks on.

Interesting. Everything I’ve been to in MN, or at least the Twin Cities, has enforced their rules. I know it depends on the venue though. Oh well.

First Ave owned venues are enforcing it pretty tightly. No masks required inside but vaxed or neg tests. I saw multiple groups of Gen X folks who thought they could get into the Hold Steady shows a few weeks ago get turned away at the door and throw a shit fit about it. Fuck ‘em. Participate in society or don’t. I’m tired of waiting.

I guess I just don't get what will happen when everyone is vaxxed. You can still spread and get it. I'm genuinely asking.

    1. Preventing the worst of illness and most of the death
    2. Relieving the burden of overworked healthcare workers
    3. Minimizing the risks for those who are unable to be vaccinated and/or at greatest risk for complications due to the disease (such as the immunocompromised)

Once those things happen and it is endemic, life gets closer to normal. But we are nowhere near there where I live, and in most of the country as well. The winter will likely exacerbate this.

I also don’t mind if folks who have a choice also choose to take their chances on natural immunity — as long as they aren’t in societal situations where they could be allowed to spread it without precautions (if you want to be unvaccinated but wear a mask, I would be fine with you in the room, for example, because I am vaxed and boosted, but not with my kids because they are too young) and no using resources meant for those who took precautions not to get it.

Some very good points. I just really don't think the people in charge want to let go no matter what.

i, personally, don't even think negative tests should be permissible any longer. get fucking vaccinated.

What happens if you are vaccinated and positive?

You’re being purposefully ignorant. Getting vaccinated is to prevent overwhelming amounts of death and hospital crowding. If a vaccinated person is unknowingly positive in a room full of vaccinated people, the risk to others is so, drastically less than if there were people unvaccinated.

Being vaccinated has never, and i repeat, *never* been about stopping the spread. We can’t eradicate this disease (this quickly), but what we can do is cooperate as a society and do everything we can to limit the damage as much as we possibly can.
