I got my first phone in 2010 when I was in middle school and I think I was one of the last people in my grade to finally have one lol. It was a Samsung Intensity II which was one of those with the sliding keyboard.

 

I got my first phone in 9th grade (2002) and after having it for a week, I fell skateboarding and crushed it in my back pocket.

my parents freaked and I didn’t get another one until I was 18 and could get my own.

I immediately dropped that one INTO MY CUP OF COFFEE AT A DINER LIKE FIVE MINUTES AFTER I GOT IT. I let it dry and took it back to AT&T and told them it didn’t work. They just gave me a new one. No cost.

Lots of good info in this article; basically, they could have a Omicron-adapted vaccine ready to produce by early March. Since vaccine would be so similar to previous one, they wouldn’t need to go through the same testing hurdles

 

Don't know about the booster, but in February I got COVID a week before I was scheduled to get my first dose and my doctor (and the health department) told me I could still get my first dose as soon as my quarantine/symptoms were done. I still ended up waiting about 6 weeks, but you may want to pose the question to your doctor, or even your local health department (or pharmacy) because you may not need to wait long following your quarantine/symptoms being done.

 

As with everyone citing the "very mild" statement out of context, I'm going to have to see more before jumping to that conclusion. That guy's calculations are pretty rough, using data that even he says is somewhat in conflict with itself. We'll know more soon, but I think the best thing we can tell from the current case and hospitalization numbers in South Africa is that COVID didn't suddenly morph into the common cold.

Regardless, I'd prefer to see our government do more than ban people from countries that don't even have a confirmed case of the variant and gently suggest that people wear masks, but apparently that's too much to ask for

 

This was my immediate thought.
