I'd draft Rocky Lombardi on name alone. No way someone with that name isn't at least decent at football.

Dude was never able to be productive and is quitting on the team in the thick of the playoff chase, ridiculous

    The rivalry is back on

I like the transfer portal and not putting kids at the whim of whatever universities or shitty coaches want to do to them and giving them a way to be in the best position possible for them, but I also kinda wish it was more regulated on when players do/don’t join to save some of these guys from themselves as far as impatience and “in the moment” decisions go where, two weeks later, it’d be to everyone’s benefit if the depth players didn’t enter the portal mid-season after there’s a big injury

Coaches get to just leave and take new jobs whenever, kids should be able to decide to enter the portal whenever, imo.

Yeah, i agree. I think sometimes people try to apply logic to situations that don’t always require it.

I mean, it all comes back to the whole “they should pay the players” thing — coaches have contracts with penalties on either side if they breach early (and incentives to stay). Players have the vague promise of a scholarship that can then be pretty easily replicated by anyone else once they enter the transfer portal and if you’re not paying them, no you probably should be as minimal as possible on rules and mandates

my point was more “at the macro level, it would be beneficial to players’ development if mid-season entries to the transfer portal were limited”

You should be allowed to transfer whenever and wherever you want, but when you're posting cringe tik toks about how you're being done wrong cause you don't get the ball enough despite never having earned the targets and then you quit the week of the biggest conference game of the year when you're a couple wins from the playoff you're gonna get criticized and deserve it

Eh, the kid is 21 years old. What were you posting on social media at 21? Cause I was posting some pretty awful/cringe shit back then (and I'm glad social media didn't exist then as it does now) and I wasn't a high-caliber athlete with a limited amount of time to make a big impact in college in my lottery-like pursuit of the NFL, while dealing with a pandemic still raging in this country literally on the opposite corner of the country from where I'm from.

But, I also have had my views on sports now skewed to where I can kind of only see it as a labor/management interaction now, so I'm going to almost always side with the player. Not saying that my position is correct and everyone else is wrong, it's just hard for me to not look at pro sports teams and colleges as the giant corporations that they are and how disposable they make the players, particularly in American football.

OSU being 19.5 point favorites seems a little egregious.

Lol rumored to be offering Mel Tucker $95 mil then they give up 35 points in 20 minutes of game time. You love to see it.

I personally think there’s enough still to come that an undefeated Cincinnati makes it in

Oregon is underdog tonight and still has PAC-12 championship if they win, Bama has Auburn + UGA, OSU has Michigan + Big 10 championship
