The tattoo bug has hit my family now. My dad has an appointment this week coming up. And now I'm already considering what/where I'll get next.

 

Yeah thats exactly what she was told. Just super annoying, my wife was like "why wasn't this brought up at the time of booking?" and they said "well we can't ask every woman if they're breastfeeding". I mean, why not? Seems like it would save a lot of trouble to send out the agreement at time of booking rather than wait until the time of the appointment.

 

I understand your frustration, but I think part of the responsibility is on your wife as well.

my favorite part about tattoos is, depending where you get it, the random ass area of no hair for awhile lol

I still have this cutout of hair on my arm that looks really funny but I've had so much arm hair my whole life that I have more anxiety about shaving my arms than I do about an actual tattoo lol

 

She did say I've got the hairiest legs she's ever shaved lol

 

Really stoked, I'm getting a couple pieces done in less than two weeks. Feels like I've been waiting forever. Going for a couple Alexisonfire forearm pieces, a raven on one arm and a cardinal on the other inspired by the OCYC cover art.

Found this guy who is very local to me in Portsmouth NH which is great too since nearly everyone I'd want to get work from in the Boston/North Shore area are booked out forever and not taking new appts currently which blows. Hoping it goes well and I can just keep going to him and stay closer to home. He has really clean work and I even love some of the more abstract stuff he's done:

Awesome. I can't wait to see photos of the raven. I've been thinking about getting a raven of some sort... piecing together some ideas but I think ravens are just so badass looking.

 

I got a few filler pieces today on my arm but my favorite is this 365 in my dad’s handwriting. My grandpa always played 365 for the daily lotto and my dad has always played it every single day as well.

 

Have they ever won?

 

yeah it hits every once in a while. It’s only for like $500 or so. He’d be way better off saving the money lol.

Well I'm bummed, artist had a family emergency come up and my appt got rescheduled out to May which might as well be next century

 

I have my next appointment booked for February. I’m visiting a friend in Los Angeles for a few days so I booked with Craig Jackman at American Electric Tattoo. Stoked.

 

Since my one appt got pushed out 5 months I've been scrambling around trying to find some more artists to tattoo me before then since I got the itch for ink. Already reached out to 3 artists, Joe Mallard in Salem for some surprise flash, Steve Clark at Hobo's in Portsmouth to do a gorilla head, and Steve Minerva in Dover, NH to do a custom fox piece. If all goes as planned I'll be getting a lot of ink in 2022! My only worry is all these artists being booked insanely far out.

 

I got on my artist’s books the end of November, not doing the consultation until after the new year, and now I’m worried about how far out the actual appointment will be, especially since he’s booked until the summer now.
