Wow, this single is seriously something else. Sorry to make the dreaded Radiohead reference but it reminds me of hearing In Rainbows for the first time in that their approach to songwriting is just so beyond their peers and it just gets better and better.

 

"Time Escaping" is incredible hot damn this percussion

Had my youtube setting on 2x speed for some reason and was very confused! Luckily I fixed it and the song rules, cannot wait for this record.

Oh my. This song. This band is so special.


I’ve listened to “Time Escaping” numerous times from rips of Adrianne playing it live and being like “it’s a nice folky Adrianne song”…..and then you hit play on the studio version and it sounds like Big Thief recreating “15 Step” by Radiohead with organic percussion. Just an unbelievable band.

 

Are there cassettes anywhere?

 

I had to pause it a minute in I was smiling too hard.

The blurb with the album said they finished 45 songs for this record. Not sure if it was one of those, my instincts told me it felt even more “new” than that when they started playing it on tour, so idk

 

really hoping for a studio version of that one, loved it when I saw it live

They said they wrote that song shortly before their latest tour started. If the next album also pulls from the batch of 45 songs recorded in 2020, then "Once a Buncha Times" likely won't be on an album for quite a while

 

Did they say the whole album was tracked live?
