She had the top 30 songs on Spotify at one point yesterday knocking Adele off #1 so I believe it

 

Past Scott was an absolute fool for sleeping on RED when it was released. 24-year-old me would have adored this. But back then I was a "singles only" Taylor fan.

Thankfully, 35-year-old me isn't that far removed from who I was then, so I can still enjoy the hell out of this while wondering what could have been.

 

I could see her using the All Too Well video as a tour intro or during the encore break

Maybe it's just because my wife has played it a billion times this weekend, but the normal version of All Too Well now feels like a radio edit that's missing pieces

The more i listen ti this the more i enjoy the new versions of almost everything on here bar We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, The Last Time, and maybe 22.

The long version of All Too Well in no way feels 10 minutes long either, you could tell me it was 6 and i’d believe you.

 

“Best New Music” is a kind of funny honor for this to receive.

 

they have a "best new reissue" category too iirc, but to be fair half the album is new (to us) songs.

 

I'd lean toward calling a reissue for these specific purposes, though I understand the grey area. I mostly think it's funny that Pitchfork didn't review Red/give it BNM in 2012 when it should have gotten that honor, so they're doing it now.

Would love to hear a story in a few years about how the 10 minute version of All Too Well was someone's gateway into long songs and they became a huge Opeth fan or something.
