Finally got a decently sized tv for the living room, back to console gaming for a while. Really debating on buying a physical copy of Divinity Original Sin 2 for the Switch. First one was one of my favorite games, and I still haven’t gotten around to playing the sequel. It’s going for 100+ on eBay, but I know I’ll put hours into it…playing it on the couch just seems great.

 

I caved and bought the definitive edition

which is even more hilarious because I have the original trilogy also on there so now I have two copies of every game

 

I've been playing San Andreas because it was free on Game Pass and like, it totally deserves all the criticism for the graphics/AI. But for me I've been having so much more of an issue with the camera and the aiming which I wish would have been updated at all. I just had to do a mission in a hotel and was making myself sick trying to maneuver around the corners without getting shot. Some missions are better than others.

Glad I didn't pay for it but it's fun when it's not giving me motion sickness

Player's Log: Still playing Horace.

It's an interesting and challenging game, and it's also got some segments that border on the masochistic.

Apparently beyond the regular areas, the mansion of the game is a Metroidvania all to itself, where it looks like the most fiendish platforming segments lie. I briefly became stuck there because I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to go there.

I'm on Chapter 8 or 9 of the game, and apparently there are 22 chapters, so... I have a long way to go.

One part of note is that some of the noninteractable NPCs in the game are made to be clear references to various sitcoms. I've played a dish washing game with the Golden Girls and been in a town populated by the cast of Seinfeld, Fresh Prince, and Friends, which is creepier than it sounds.

 

Definitely. Original graphics with new controls and camera would have been soo much better. Those games play like ass.

It's taken me way too long to get the joke that two of the people I'm currently traveling with are Mr. Preston and Mr. Logan.

So I'm now at the point where I'm actually supposed to explore that really hard Metroidvania-style mansion I mentioned earlier, and I'll admit, I'm starting to get a little frustrated, because the rooms are insane and it's not entirely clear where to go. I'm maybe halfway through the game now, 38 out of 58 achievements, and I'm kind of not sure if I want to continue.

I feel like I should, just because I've come so far, but this game's difficulty is starting to become a little more than I was bargaining for. Like, I'm really in Super Meat Boy territory now, and that's not what I thought I was signing up for.
