My same thought! I've been waiting for this since I moved to the US in 2019

 

Must be nice for UK fans who are over in the US as Biffy Clyro usually plays 500-1000 capacity places here. Saw them play Irving Plaza in NYC in 2017, great show.

 

Wonder if Green Day has more festivals up their sleeve for next year

 

They put it off for as long as possible but I think they are now entering their "heritage act" phase so they'll likely start playing the big rock festivals here in the US. Not sure the mainstream festivals (Coachella, Lolla, Gov Ball) will be interested though.

 

I’m kinda hoping that’s the case. I thought that since they did stadiums on Hella Mega and their 2017 tour that they were too big to even headline these types of festivals. Glad to see I’m wrong!

 

I think they could still headline the big festivals but the demographic for those ones is essentially a pop/hip-hop crowd these days. Green Day would be, like, a perfect Riot Fest headliner.

I would hope so as they are one of my favorite bands of all time but could they outdraw, say, The Weeknd, Post Malone, Cardi B or Kendrick Lamar at this point?

 

I moved at 2015 so I was able to catch them twice. You are in for a treat!

 

Outdraw? Great question that I wasn’t prepared for lol. But nah they would still draw massive as I’m positive mostly everyone knows at least ONE Green Day hit

If Green Day's doing a heavy festival circuit next year, I could see them doing some of the Danny Wimmer festivals, too. Rockville is this weekend and they're already selling tickets for 2022 (it's moving back to May) so maybe a headliner announcement could come next week.

 

Could see them doing Aftershock, honestly

 

As much as it pains me to say this, Green Day is now probably perfect for Rock On The Range (or whatever version of it exists).

There’s a west coast leg after about a week break. I’m definitely going to have a hit that up. My only fear is that it won’t sell well. The last time Thursday played the Roseland in 2017 with Touché and Basement it absolutely bombed.
