are they? last I heard the reconciliation bill got dropped down to 175b a year and Manchin was still not sold.

Eventually it'll get chopped so much the progressives won't vote for it or infrastructure.

And despite what the vocal members in here say, "kill the bill" because it was only $1.75 trillion instead of $3.5 trillion is just going to get you walloped even more in 2022

If the bills actually do get passed it should increase dem approval ratings even if some progressives claim it's crumbs

I do think enough progressives eventually cave on infrastructure, for better or worse. Jayapal has been hinting at this for a while. There are probably enough of the "just get something done already people" to get a temporary bump in approval

For BBB, I go back and forth by the day, but as of the last two days, it is hard to envision a scenario where both Bernie and Manchin agree with a package. And, personally, part of me thinks that Manchin's moving of the goalposts is primarily because he assumed Bernie would have said "absolutely not" to the cuts by this point. I'm far from convinced that get done

Since CNN just brought up signs, I will say...when we were in Shenandoah this past August, the Youngkin signs were evvvvvvvvvvvverywhere out there.

Manchin and Sinema imo are running out the clock for whoever is stuffing their pockets, they have for MONTHS intentionally dragged their feet on what should’ve been two easy bills to pass.

At least we don't have to hear about voter fraud and counting "only the legal votes" for the next 30 days. It's amazing how all that disappears when the Republicans win.

The fearmongering over CRT is super effective and will only get worse over the next 12 months now that it has proven a winning strategy. Willing to bet most of these people don't even know what CRT is, just that Tucker Carlson told them it was bad.

It's the unfortunate position where progressives absolutely need to make clear that "compromise" is not just giving up everything important yet actually taking the strong position of killing the bill will make literally everyone hate you. I think they realize this as well, which is why they seem to be on the verge of caving

I, on the other hand, will continue saying to kill both bills because I can vent my frustrations without being responsible for any of the political ramifications

Can't wait for the viral outrage of Biden's "orange cone pandemic" causing traffic jams all over America's highways.
