I’m assuming they will continue to make people pay twice for the PC and PS versions of games as well.

Almost reached 100% in Death's Door except I can't beat the final boss. Gotta decide if I want to push through or just call it quits.

    Player's Log:

    Bloodstained.

I'm now in the final area of the game. Nearly have the entire map filled in too.

Now I have a choice: I can push on and beat the game and leave it behind for other pastures, or I can try to get some of the secret stuff. I don't know how much work that's gonna be though. There's like five different optional bosses I can fight, but I don't know how hard they are, and I don't feel like doing a lot of crafting nonsense to get better gear.

I don't want this to sound like I'm knocking the game, cause it's a great game, but I'm getting a bit burnt out. I've spent at least a week on this game, and I feel like that might be enough.

I think tomorrow I'm going to at least try my hand at a couple of the optional bosses. If I feel confident enough with progressing, then I'll do more. Otherwise, I'll just do the final area and at least finish the game.

That being said, one thing I've discovered that I am enjoying is that the Invert shard that lets you walk on the ceiling can be used during boss fights, and a lot of their attacks don't account for this. I crushed the last boss I fought just by being able to walk on the ceiling and bash him in the face instead of having to jump to hit him. It's pretty great.

I guess one of the locations has a glitch so I can never get a true 100% and I’m in so much pain

I gotta say after I’ve now taken down 4 valkyries I really do feel like the god of war after winning these fights. They give me an insane high.

Pretty cool how I grasped TLOU combat. I always wondered what it was like. They kind of just throw you into the real thing without much explanation and I struggled, but once I got through it and got to the next zone pretty much everything clicked for me and I felt comfortable with it.

I guess I am a "square ass geek" then because handhelds do nothing for me. I will play the Switch with my kids but that's about it.

Getting the sense from this post that the kids are the reason for the Switch, and I feel hollow inside like Saki.

The primary reason we have it. Although, I have played a few games that looked interesting but it's always in the docking station.

I think I’ve played handheld 90% compared to like 10% docked lol

I like how the gif moves ever closer to Saki's eye, like you're staring into the depths of her cold black soul.

In all seriousness, while I totally get different strokes for different folks and I do tend to play most everything on a stationary PC these days, I have been a fan of portability since the original Game Boy. I can't play a PC (well) lying in bed. I can't play a PC on my toilet. So basically, I totally am onboard the Steam Deck and getting one at my earliest opportunity, whenever that happens to be.

That being said, I do also believe that similar to how some movies were made for the cinema, some games were made for as immersive a setup as possible.

I have a surround setup and LG C1 I have invested a lot of time and money in and there is nothing like playing a good game with it.

Also, you can't set it down for the toilet?! That must be a damn good game!

  20. I’m getting the steam deck strictly to play my entire steam backlog while laying in bed.
