Goddamn, they did it again! They just don’t miss. One thing different about this album is that on some of the songs, the production makes Adam’s voice sound crackly or kinda lo-fi (sorry, I don’t really know production words) which was an interesting decision. I love all the songs but I think occasional rain is my least favorite and maybe not the best closer.

a little over halfway through this and it's not hitting like ADU or LITD for me. it's great though. the title track blew me away. hoping for more of a spark in the back half of the album.

 

Rings Around My Father's Eyes might be the loveliest song they've ever done. gorgeous stuff

rest of this came and went for me, will see how it ages with some time

 

Definitely perfect for cool fall morning. Excited to spend more time with this, now onto Mastodon.

 

this goddamned work week has been so hard and now i'm just drinking a beer and listening to this and crying. i love music.

 

Someone needs to use the title track for a montage in a movie.

 

Every time I hear it in sequence I get so pumped. Absolutely monster song.

 

It's so good. I usually get kind of bummed if/when artists release the best song on the album as a pre-release single, but I'm not bothered at all in this case.

 

There’s something different about this band. Unlike most of my favorite artists where I love parsing out lyrics and whole albums, what keeps me coming back to TWOD is this massive sense of feeling. It’s completely in the moment where I get lost in whatever song I’m listening to without thinking of anything else and I feel so much peace. Life is just simpler when I’m listening to TWOD.

 

I think i like A Deeper Understanding more, but this is still fantastic. Harmonium Dream is so great

Sorry if this has been talked about a lot already but I totally blurred two song titles and thought a title was “I Don’t Want to Be Here Anymore” and thought it was gonna be a song about I Think You Should Leave.

haven’t listened to the album yet holding out hope that may be the case about the two songs with close enough titles lol

 

Would totally take actual songs based on Karl Havok’s depression if that were a thing

 

I don't know who Matthew Perpetua is, but he can get fucked - I think I love the keyboards on this album even more than the guitars, and the guitars make sweet tender love to my ears every time I listen to this.

 

I really love this record, though it’s probably my fourth or fifth favorite of theirs. After one weekend of listening.

 

Totally slept on the last album, but was really pulled in by the singles this time around. What a damn fine record.

 

It’s VERY good.

So far, I think A Deeper Understanding is still my favorite. But this is so well made and sounds incredible. It also is perfect for fall, which is hitting in the Midwest a ton right now.
