About a half hour into this and I REALLY wish Rob Zombie had a crack at this script/storyline. Imagine the town mob with his scumbag characters and needle drops? It’d be perfect.

This is a bummer because I really do like the idea of the town fighting back against Michael, but the execution (ha!) was poor. Without irony, I truly think the Zombie films capture the brutality that this film was going for so much better. Some good kills/gore, but the editing when Michael kills the mob is done so awkwardly

No. I don’t want every towns person seeing a white horse and using the f word in every sentence while beating their wife.

Yeah people can shit on this movie all they want, but it’s far more enjoyable than anything Rob Zombie has ever done. The 2nd Halloween he made is the worst movie in the entire franchise.

I didn't expect this to be great, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. About what I expected and hoped for.

I can’t count the number of times a zombie created character in a film has been shown hitting or vocally abusing his wife

you can't? i'm sure it's less than the number of fingers on two hands

Attempting to defend his films is like talking at a brick wall at this point, but I absolutely think he'd do a better job at capturing the ugliness and anger of mob mentality than what they did in this movie. The central thesis of this film seems to be PTSD and grief after a traumatic event, and Zombie's H2 does a terrific job in that regard.

If they're worried about how many times a character says "fuck", they might not be able to count to double digits as they are in pre-school

Implying someone has to be in pre school if they find the over use of profanity to be annoying. There’s thousands of words in the English language, yet he limits his characters to using the f-word dozens of times (at least) in every film.

halloween 2, lords of salem, and 31 feature nothing even resembling domestic abuse. trying to cast my mind back to 1000 corpses and devil's rejects and not really recalling it there either. michael has an abusive dad in halloween 1

I defend Rob. I like H2. Hopefully whatever was going on during 31 and 3 from hell is over because those blew hard.

You’re right, I was being too specific. I correct myself and say the number of times Zombie has male characters beating and abusing a female character is more times than I can count.

Ah yes, Michael Myers is notoriously nice to women in Halloween Kills

yeah they were both very hard to watch and the best/worst example about what people hate about him. The low budgets did not help. 3 From Hell in particular was atrocious
