The bottom line is if you don’t care about spoilers good for you! Don’t act like people who do care are wrong for feeling that way. Just continue not caring about spoilers and don’t be a dick. It’s pretty simple really.

 

There are instances where you're a dick for spoilers and instances where you're a baby for complaining about them. The dude saying people should be put into massive debt for spoiling a movie manages to be both.

 

No one should ever listen to John Campea. He's a click-bait buffoon.

 

I find that a lot of people that complain about spoilers are people who will read news and threads about an upcoming film for weeks or months at a time.

 

I always use captions at home. This is welcome.

 

Living in the senior citizen capital of the United States, the local AMC gives out these big speaker things for old people to hold up to their ears to hear the movies. Those are way more distracting than captions.

 

Those 4 reviews tell me that movie is prob ass but they don’t wanna offend our mouse overlord

 

Tbh those reviews tell me that the movie is probably actually kind of interesting and way different than most other Marvel movies since these idiots can’t figure out what to say about it. Makes me more intrigued tbh.

 

Also, for the record not all of the users screenshotted in that tweet are men, so that’s cool.

I haven’t seen the movie yet so I obviously can’t speak to its quality or depth myself, but I take issue with that tweet’s assertion that people who HAVE seen it are, like, weak-minded man-children for committing the mortal sin of suggesting a comic book movie has some depth to it. Especially when we’re talking about a comic book movie that was written and directed by Chloe Zhao. Maybe reserve judgment until, you know, it’s actually out? Just my two cents though!

And also, again, don’t assume that the only people praising a comic book movie on Twitter are “adult men”, k?

One of those guys said you should be charged at least a million dollars for spoiling things. We at least know we don't need to listen to anything that one says.

 

I mean, these are the same people, who write more or less the SAME review, for every movie they get to go to the premiere of. It's more paid advertising than anything else, that's all.

 

I would imagine superhero fans would hate those people more than anyone. They make the group look bad.

It’s mocking similarly worded hack writing lol what is the problem here? They all use the word “dense”, which basically says nothing about the film and is often an excuse for when a person wants to sound smart but doesn’t know what the fuck to say. If anything, the last screenshot at least has something concrete to talk about

 

Nah it’s insinuating that “adult men” shouldn’t be talking about depth in a movie made by an acclaimed writer/director simply because it happens to be based on a comic book. Condescending elitist bullshit. But I know a lot people in here lap that kind of stuff up so I get that I’m just shouting into the void.

And it even misgenders one of the people it calls out for good measure.

 

I don't know who "laps that stuff up" but I also don't know why we're pretending like that was a conscious thing and malicious either. Also, since when did we start using an Oscar win as a metric for quality?
