Each cursive album post domestica has a unique feel so I can understand liking one and not others but man do I think the ugly organ is a masterpiece

Cursive was good up through Mama I'm Swollen, but I didn't care about their last three albums at all

Aside from Domestica and The Ugly Organ, and I say this generally appreciating their other work:

    The Good Life>Cursive

That’s a tough call. The good life is very good.

    Change that

And here’s another one, what with them being the current it band: harmlessness is the weakest world is full length, unless we’re counting between bodies. It’s good but it isn’t as revelatory as people say, January 10 and the two closers aside

I would like The National’s Alligator more if it didn’t sound like it was recorded in a closet.

Pianos Become The Teeth was a lot better when they were a quasi-screamo band and this is a hill I will die on.

I think the only PBTT release I don’t really revisit much is their last one, it wasn’t bad but it was just okay.

The biggest strike against PTTB imo is that they will forever be in the shadow of The Long Lack After. Like as talented as they are, it can definitely be argued that they peaked on that album and whether it’s fair or unfair, they’ll forever be compared to it.

This is my exact feelings of the band summed up so much more eloquently than I could ever put it. Plus I have a soft spot for Old Pride so that puts it in second in their discography. Kyle's vocals on everything after the Touche split have just been boring.

this is the first i'm hearing of this tbh. I always figured it'd be Keep You that they're always in the shadow of.

Funnily enough I started with Keep You, tried to listen to TLLA and just couldn't get into it at all

I much prefer Kyle's cleans, turns out

i don't like anything at all that they were doing before Keep You, a couple listens shut me off completely. Keep You and Wait for Love have some brutal lyrical content but almost nothing musically captivating. i tried, i really did, but to no avail. then i resorted to respecting their craft from a distance, occasionally spinning those couple songs i did like, and promising to give a chance to whatever they come up next, if it happens
