This week, Travis got engaged and was SNL, so I it’s his turn.

Nope. If she’s abusing drugs or whatever she was doing and him making threatening statements than the rights actions needed to take place. Sounds like actions took place and help was contacted and they ended their toxic relationship. But this didn’t happen two days ago. Bring up things to try and bring people down isn’t always the most productive effort in life. He just got engaged. So I can only assume he’s worked on himself enough to not repeat the mistakes of his past. Hopefully his ex has been able to work on her issues as well. People can change. That doesn’t suggest what either of them may have done was ok. But in reality, the best outcome was for them was to not be together and perpetuate the situation until it escalated further.

It never does, and I think that’s the intention of the person who makes those posts to make sure that happens.

I think most people are somewhat or totally aware of the members of this bands history and some of their past mistakes and haven’t forgot them. Even within the bands history itself, some of their content is not all ok. It’s the timing though. Guy just got engaged. People have went after Mark many times before. Are they not doing it now that now because he is battling with cancer or in remission?

In other news….Listened to Nine and +44 yesterday. They still bang.

Skiba had to of released the beast on this next album right? Like, he can’t regress after the performance he had on Nine. He tapped into something he’s never done before. I feel like there’s no going back after absolutely slaying on that album.

 

I think Skiba needed to find his place and his voice in the band. It’s still a work in progress but he felt way more present on Nine.l and made it a better album. I guess recording from a distance could be the one factor that could mess with that a bit for the next record.

+44 is really enjoyable too. Did they ever record anything for album 2 because I remember them holding contracts.

Moratorium on having conversations about the bad behavior of celebrities, who will never see this, because they got engaged? Y'all aren't friends with these people, no matter what the Urethra Chronicles DVDs might make you think.

I checked the video section, then I scrolled to all videos.

But I don't see, for example, the video about the TOYPAJ singles. I see only like 12 videos or so, from different and old dates.

 

I think he said on one of the bass play-throughs that if people recorded and posted them that he would be less likely to do more. He wanted them to be in-the-moment things.

 

The larger discussion about parasocial relationships with celebrities

 

Never seen it. I am not friends with anyone in this band nor would I expect to be.

I do think trying to bring people down at good moments is lame. Especially when his history is known. It’s not just a random post someone made. This is old news and your sure hope he’s changed a lot for the better since then.

 

I don’t think someone was trying to have a discussion as much as they were trying to generate a reaction.

I don’t use this band as a moral compass in my life, or directly relate to how they live their personal lives. Celeb culture is messed up. I agree. But it’s not my reality so I don’t relate to it or want to even try to. Yes, the guys in this band are not perfect. It’s been well established.

 

He removes them due to copyright something-or-other. That's why he's recently asked people to stop putting them on social media because he can get in trouble.

He mentioned it on one of his more recent streams where he played some random songs:
"I'll play one or two more but I don't know who's recording or will put this up and then I'll get in trouble"

Not entirely sure if it's entirely copyright related, but there's a reason he doesn't archive them.

 

There's nothing wrong with posting about the problematic past of an artist, but I don't get why people are acting like it's what Laura had in mind with her weird post when it was very clearly not.

 

I think it’s the timing and high jacking of Laura’s comment to turn it into a personal attack for some users and not an attack on his drumming like she said that is odd.

Pretty sure Travis, Matt, Mark and Tom’s past issues are frequently brought up. There is absolutely a time for it, but I don’t think it’s an all the time requirement.

Ahh, I get that. That's too bad. It's the kind of thing that really sucks to not have archived in some way and where copyright can be such a pain in the ass. There's some great stories I've never heard before, and from just a historical perspective, it kinda sucks for that to all just be lost to the ether.
