there’s a group of five or so albums that i’m reserving judgment on until the end of the year. i could definitely see this being the one. both are in that tier though.

 

this is much much riffier than any of their previous stuff

 

you absolutely should listen to Harmlessness.

Thought the review was pretty good, don't agree with Invading being too busy, but other than that I definitely can understand most of their points.

that review is interesting because it pretty clearly sums up what my expectations for the record were but the first listen kind of shattered that reading of it for me.

 

pretty sure every review has gotten that wrong lol

 

I know it's probably unreasonable, but I really wish there was a way to timestamp guest vocals on songs.

 

streaming services should implement something like those timestamped comments in soundcloud, but only for official notes/commentary/etc

 

I was listening to the album last night - Gave up trying to read the lyric sheet because the font is so damn small so used Genius instead - They had all of the vocalists listed correctly for each part, especially noticeable during 'Fewer Afraid'

absolutely wild and I love it

 

I've been thinking this for a while, but Infinite Josh reminds me of Circa Survive's Descensus in the way it just hypnotizes you into a groove for a looooong time.

 

Another callback I just heard is the first line on the album. “This is where we live and this is where we stay forever,” is a callback to Harmlessness’s(seseses) first song, You Can’t Live There Forever.

 

The last 3 on this is the pinnacle of their career imo

 

Trouble is towards the bottom for me
