Never listening to an artist or band for whatever reason (barring them being shitty) means you are probably missing out on some great music!

And that they sincerely tried to make great albums. Some people can't forgive them for that for some reason.

    “Never have, never will.”

Truly bizarre admission. How do you know you don’t like their music? Why would you make up your mind on an artist without ever listening to them.

The Joshua Tree is one of the best albums of the 80s, if not the singular best

I know there will be disagreements about the singular best part

  14. I hate the singles from Achtung Baby (bar “One,” which I prefer Michael Stipe singing) and Zooropa so 90s U2 are very much not for me

  16. I’m guilty of never-have-never-will’ing some artists, but I don’t think any of them have/have had a cultural presence like U2 though

I don't have any good reasons, just this one bad opinion

Now if you'd all quit your whinging and give me an album to start with I'll get on with them

This reminds me of on "U Talking U2 To Me?" where Scott and Adam try to convince Harris Wittels that "Achtung Baby" is good and he says how it sounds kind of dated, then just gives up and says something sarcastic like "You're right. They're the best band ever" and leaves.

The only U2 songs i truly love are like sunday bloody sunday, beautiful day, and this specific version of stuck in a moment you can’t get out of

I'm not saying you're a bad person if you don't like With or Without You but that's exactly what I'm saying. You're a bad person if you don't like With or Without You.

Rancid is kinda overrated. Look. and out come the wolves is quite possibly one of the 5 best punk albums of all-time/90s. Top to bottom it's a masterpiece, but ill be honest, the rest of their discography is pretty decent/ok/forgettable. I've seen them live 3 times and lets be real, it's MOSTLY wolves songs. Lets Go is also pretty great too. I mean all in all, that was all almost 25+ years ago. Other bands like Bad Religion, Descendents, NOFX have been releasing solid new stuff in the meantime. I LIKE Rancid. Not saying i dont. Just a little overrated.

    on the flip side

Anti-Flag is kinda super underrated . This band got kinda shit on early on from the 'punx' as being corny. BUT! Look, 20+ years of decent to great shit every single album. Their early stuff is amazing. Their Bush years stuff is amazing. Their recent trump stuff is amazing. They're constantly pumping out hits, and yet i feel they dont get the respect from the scence unlike other bands in the genre. Unlike Rancid, when you go see Anti-Flag, you're going to see half the set be songs from their 2 newest albums. That speaks greatly to the quality of the new stuff and I think they're actually reaching new fans. It's sad these guys still have to play C level venues though

early more post-punky U2 is good. The arena rock transition isn’t bad or anything, but it doesn’t grab me at all - Joshua Tree or Achtung Baby are not albums that I ever feel interested in turning on
