Definitely bums me out though - hopefully Brett takes it in strides cuz he's such a team guy. He's been so important to their season.

im guessing it's a decision based on analytics / matchups ? Maybe he makes the ALCS roster if they advance ?

but yeah, with how cash and everyone likes to matchup, they probably just didn’t like his chances with the Boston pitching staff (2 lefty starters consecutively)

 

I know you can't make decisions based on likability of a player ..... (case in point - Buck Showalter penciling Chris Davis into the lineup 130+ games a year from 2014-2018 lol) but I just really love rooting for a guy like Brett Phillips, it's nice to see him succeed in the show.

Sox were I believe 2 for 8 in balls hit over 98 mph. Rays are just so good defensively and have their guys positioned perfectly.
