The Super Mario Bros Movie (April 5, 2023)

With the casting and America release date announced I figured I'd make a thread for it.

Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach
Charlie Day as Luigi
Jack Black as Bowser
Keegan Michael-Key as Toad
Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong

Chris Pratt sucks shit but the rest of the cast rules

And also while I like the other cast members... does Charlie Day really seem like a Luigi to you? He'd be a perfect Waluigi but he's too chaotic to be Luigi. Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong? I'm not really feeling it. Jack Black casting is the only one that really seems to fit well to me.

 

Even if Pratt didn't suck it makes no sense to have him voice Mario.

 

We need a cameo of Wario voiced by Danny DeVito

 

Is this movie just an elaborate Mario Maker troll level?

I have very mixed feelings about this project for a variety of reasons, starting with how terrible the last movie was, continuing with how weird it will be to hear known actors voicing these characters, and finishing with me just not being able to imagine a plot deserving of a movie vs. just another game.

 

Can’t top this anyway

 

the existence of this will be funny enough for me to think its worthwhile. idk it'll probably bad but there is sometimes value in moves that are incredibly bad
