My wife saw the thing going around tiktok or something where if you line your counter tops with aluminum foil your cats will stop jumping up there.

Walked in the house just now to this:

Has anyone used the febreeze spray for pet odor. Is it safe?

my cat has stinky poops and the smell lingers after I clean the box

I wouldn't spray it in the litter box but I'm sure around the apartment is fine. Maybe try a new litter? Some just suck at blocking the smell, I use arm and hammer and it mostly works pretty well. Also depends if Chester decides to bury it or not which he usually does.

One of my cats also has stinky poops and just leaves them sitting on top of the litter in his box for all the world to see. So weird he doesn’t bury it lol

My parents one cat always missed the litter box. Just backed up too far and pooped over the side. Every time.

I currently use arm and hammer slide litter because it tracks the least. I just worry about spraying an air deodorizer and have it dangerous to my boy since I hear some sprays are harmful

My cat is in the vet today to have a growth surgically removed from her forehead, fingers crossed it all goes well

Got an update from the vet! She's doing well and recovering. The biopsy will take a week to see if it's cancerous. The poor thing needed two teeth pulled because one had a hole in it and the other was starting. They gave her a cone, and a three-day pain injection so they said she'll definitely be loopy. Should be entertaining at least lol.

The vet said to only give her a little food and that she "probably won't even be hungry" from the surgery. Noooope, she hasn't left her food dish in two hours lmao. She goes back and forth between standing at her food dish or just staring at the wall like a total space cadet

i know this is the cat thread but my dog had pain pills / a cone years ago and he would just stand there and eventually staring leaning sideways. He wouldn’t lay down he just keeping standing so for like 6 hours I couldn’t anything but stay by him to make sure he didn’t fall over lol (he’s 65 pounds and as tall as my knee so falling over would have been painful). At least he was in the living room so I could watch tv while keeping an eye on him lol

    Update on my cat -

The vet called and the growth was a cancerous mast cell tumor. But, removing it would be the treatment and the vet says it's good news and she should be fine.

However.. she's suddenly not eating today. I have no idea why. She's very food-obsessed and constantly begging, so it's strange behavior. The vet just gave us some food for upset stomaches but she still won't eat. They told us to call again first thing in the morning if she still doesn't. Ugh. Currently worrying. I wonder if she has pain from the tooth that was pulled

Hopefully it's just pain from the tooth. My boy had a bunch removed but he still eats normal so if that's the case it should be only temporary.

Ugh, well she still wasn't eating, so the vet asked to bring her in for 3:30. Shortly after, she vomited a yellow foam and started eating again, but didn't finish. So the vet wants her to come in right away now due to the vomiting. Poor girl, I hope she's ok.

Kidney issues. The vet has no idea why. She's never seen this after a surgery. We need to hospitalize her for 2-3 days. Ugh.

Just paid the $4500 to treat her for 3 days. They told us 1/3 of cats recover fine, the other 1/3 partially recover and get a few more years of life, and then the last third don't recover. So scared for her. I hate this

Thank you, I appreciate it. I keep going back and forth between feeling heartbroken and numb. Just trying to keep busy at work for now. They wouldn't let us inside due to COVID protocols. Totally understandable, but if she passes away and they don't let me see her first, I'm going to freak out. Hope they could make an accomodation to bring her out to my car or something.

Thank you . Already thought we lost her once years ago when my roommate accidentally left the door open and she went missing for months. I hate going through this worrying a second time. Total deja vu moment.
