The podcast Shock Waves is pretty great. I know they had an old pod called Killer POV that is probably good as well. Check it out

Also check out Brainwaves podcast, a weekly "radio" show put on by Uncle Creepy from Dread Central. Hilarious, dirty and informative. Just last week they had two flat earth theorists and debated them...the outcome was 3 hours of gold.

Horror Movie Podcast is one I follow that has some hearty episodes. Like, if the episodes were a meal, they would consist of a hamburger and a smokie, as well as a pasta based side, some steamed vegetables and a brownie for dessert.

Modern Horrors is pretty good, probably the most professional since they're in a studio and actually together during the recording.

Another one is Bloody Good Horror; but only listen if you can tolerate a guy that speaks as if he's asking a question? You know what i mean; the voice gets higher as the sentence trails off...so fucking annoying but funny at times.

Oh, Bret Easton Ellis' podcast, not horror related but come one, it's BEE.

I have a few Bloody Good Horror episodes in my queue, but haven't listened enough to get to know the guys yet. I noticed their Don't Breathe episode came out, so I'll listen to that later if I decide to go see the movie tonight (torn between seeing that or Kubo and the Two Strings).

They're cool enough, but it's the host and his brother that are hard to deal with. The host CONSTANTLY interrupts the others, and when he can't get a word in he cuts off the conversation (although it's still going on). His brother is the one that speaks in questions.

You get used to it after a while but every week I still cringe for a little bit while listening.

Just saw Don't Breathe. Anyone want to go to the local playground for a game of grounders?

Stockpiling horror movies on Blu-ray to prepare for a full weekend horror marathon (enjoyed by likely just myself lol) next month. Already picked up The Witch and It Follows, two movies I somehow haven't seen but have wanted to since release, but really interested in some of the high quality transfers of older movies.

My current "must have/must see" list is Nosferatu (both Mernau and Herzog versions), Possession, The Thing, and Suspiria (will settle for a region free release until the Synapse release finally comes out).

Any "must own" horror on Blu-ray? As a collector I'm always looking for a super high quality transfer/nifty packaging/extras, etc.

I watched the original Wicker Man this evening, and even though I already knew how it ended, it didn't fail to haunt.

I hated Goodnight Mommy so much. It's not the kind of movie I expected or wanted it to be.

I'm a horror hater lately sry

Anybody else started their ~seasonal horror film binge watching?

So far I've seen Repulsion, An American Werewolf in London, In Their Sleep, Anamorph, and Holidays. All of them were pretty bad. :chin: I don't even know how I would've felt about Repulsion mainly because the film overall in the context of the things the director has done made me really uncomfortable. I'm not sure why I even watched it tbh.

I'm clearly not off to a great start sadly. I'm hoping to go to the Family Video near me to take advantage of the 2 for $1 rentals with old releases. The streaming services haven't been treating me too well. If anybody happens to have recs for things on Netflix or Shudder I'll gladly take them.

That was definitely the best out of what I've seen so far. Outside of some of the effects I wasn't really blown away though. The stream through Shudder was acting up and skipping/hanging a fair amount so I would def like to go back at some point. Is the sequel worth a try at all?

American Werewolf in London is terrific. I've avoided the sequel because of how bad I've heard it was

AAWIL is a recent favorite of mine (just saw it a few months ago) and I'll definitely be watching it as part of my one a day in October
